These SRT8s are built well....thats all I can say after my experience last week.
I was slowing down on a major road (A406 - North Circular in London) when I was thrown forward (I was wearing a belt). Apparently the brakes on the Ford Escort behind me failed and she could not stop - so she hit me at 45mph.
There was very little damage to the SRT8. Only the exhaust was pushed back but the construction of it was so good (in my opinion) that it continued to work and did so for a week afterwards. There were no issues driving it. The bumper stayed in place with no deformation or break-away from the main body.
It's a shame I don't have a photo as the garage now has the car. I did take a good long look at the sub-frame/structure at the rear under the car and could not see anythig wrong. Even the garage said everything looked solid.
Does anyone else have any experiences with accidents involving SRT8s?
