: GSM Supercharger - Where are all of the user reviews?
recentrisk 10-30-2006, 09:22 AM There have been plenty of kits installed but I really haven't seen any user reviews here yet. (Mine gets installed next week). So for the people that have it, how is it? Any 0-60 or 1/4 mile runs? They have performance numbers on the GSM website for the SC but they are so crazy I don't want to believe them...

I want some feedback from installed customers!!
Untouchable 10-30-2006, 10:59 AM I cant vouch for most of them, but I saw unclgreggys jeep at e-town.
It sounded crazy and left the hole like a rocket but then the comp shut the car down and it went into limp mode. I hope he as found the bugs, but that is what I have seen

I imagine in the next month or two your going to start seeing a lot of us guys getting Blown :)... I'll definately report on my dyno results... Take Care Guys!!! Watch Out if your in the Cleveland Area!!!
recentrisk 10-31-2006, 07:15 AM Where are the people with this installed?
we purchased two kits from them.. I had a couple of problems with the belt, missing parts, and the pulley itself.
I have contacted them many time explaining the problem and they always said: "we have never heard of it!!!" where in reality, some people on the forum have told me about these problems too.
I have asked the guy at the phone to put me on the Tech dept. or have them call me back, they never did.
The tuning they supply/stored in the additional ECU, is way un acceptable. and then they asked me to buy $300 software package to fix up the miss!
I dont want to post many things here, I am still giving them chances to fix up what they have sold me for almost $14K.
My problems been for weeks now.. So, imagine what I am in!!

what fuel/timing controller are they using? SplitSecond box and R4 software for tuning?
I think so, the box looks like that from the outside and it shares the same inputs/outputs.

I had a very bad experience with a supercharger on my 02 Denali, funny you say Limp mode I had the same problem with the manifold replacement magna charger, everytime on the parkway for 30-40 min straight it went into a 20mph limp mode:eek: and got an engine light, had to pull on the side of the road and disconnect the battery for the computer to reset. It sucked! Then hopefully it would pull out of limp mode.Magna charger didnt help at all they didnt want to hear anything:mad: .The power was only good at full throttle, bottom end and midrange sucked.I dont no why buy it made my engine run to hot,was noisy in the cabin it was a nightmare:( .I sold it on ebay only lost $200.Then I bought a Whipplecharger And everything has been great,it is half the weight, very quite, great power through all ranges and never gave me an engine code in 2-1/2 years everyday driver:D .I think the big difference was it has a seperate computer you splice into the main computer it not just a reflash over the stock computer. It also has a troubleshoot light for if you have any,the programer it comes with takes torque management out, change top speed mph , tire sizes, and deletes check engine light codes.Im just trying to say be very careful what you install it can be a nightmare experience like mine was,I will never install anything again until I know it was bulletproof tested!

This is strike 3 for GSM. I watched in eagerness hoping the other issues were addressed properly, only to have to add more concerns to the list. I wanted this kit, and hoped GSM would perform, but my opinion is now that they are not going to get my biz. I understand the issues stairing an innovator in the face, but to give this type of customer service is unacceptable. If they crap on a 14K customer, my 5K is surely not to mean bean to these folks.
Say what you will, but JH seems to have secured the answer to ECM issues with the blown 6.1L. Somewhere out there is another party able to tune this truck and supply a product/service worth buying. I shall await the arrival of such party, or simply part together my own kit and use a hand held tuner mixed with dyno time to set up my rig properly. I guarantee you that I will not add injectors the the throttle body for added fuel mix.
unclgreggy 10-31-2006, 07:07 PM There are issues. I can say that I am noticing the same thing asWhipple 1. Even without the bugs the truck seems to have nothing at the top end and mid range. More importantly - The people at kooks should be ashamed for putting out those headers. They are a real problem with the CEL light. The CEL seems to effect the performance. I would seriously caution ANYONE thinking of purchasing them.
Guys,
I got feedup from GSM and their kits. the story begins when I placed an order for the kits back in April/May, and just received it end of Oct. although I was promised that I am kit # 2&3 since I have spent $35K buying parts for my two customers.I just figured out that I was their last priority!
As I said, the kit kept on cutting the belt everytime we run it, althoug you see the power at the first couple of seconds, then it just disappears after a run or two max. I have tried to fix the problem and keep my mouth shut for the past two weeks hoping that it will be solved. We have tried many things, new belts, etc.
But, did you ask yourself why GSM didnt help at all?
I have contacted them several times, call them up/E-mail them, and explained my problems, requested them to have thier Tech Dept contact me back. Considering myself as a guy who spend even over $35K, they JUST ignored me.
They even didnt try to send me any new belts when I have reported this two weeks ago.
I am putting all of that for you guys to be aware of, I dont want anyone to spend such money on something will not work as its supposed to.
GSM,
I need my money back for my international packages which were ordered last May and didnt deliver till today. It has No value since the kits are not up and runing as its suppose to be. I will pack the kit and send it you guys. I just dont need it, when there is No Respect, Tech support, or Business turst!
M3KSRT8 11-01-2006, 10:51 AM this is not good... As my previous posts show I finally am getting things corrected and straight with Scott after rough roads as my posts indicate.
Thanks to Scott finally contacted me and sent me my 3 orders for my customers, they are in the works as of this weekend being installed - will advise on belt issues.
Though I may add, my first kit from GSM has same exact issue, Scott told me they were notified of the issue and been reported when i explained the problem and right away was swift in sending me correct Belt & Pulley which RECTIFIED the problem right away and no more belt breaking after 1 or 2 runs. the 2nd kit still has some issues and my guy is working on making it 100% as i got the new CORRECT manual from Scott/GSM too. now these 3 kits are about to be installed and will advise/update you all on this issue.
As a Side note - I fear there is not enough testings as well as R&D done at GSM before sending things out. I hope this changes super soon as it's the core driving factor of that business... more SRT8 Jeeps need to be tested and run at their premises before finalizing and calling a part to be fully operational. I trust they realize this or will realize quick.
MatFab 11-01-2006, 12:14 PM id have to blame to customers also.. how many threads have u seen *****ing about the supercharger not there yet? makes them try to rush and get it done... i agree it was shipped prematurely and i will be waiting till all the bs is over to get one and hopefully the kooks light issue is fixed by then also..

Customers complain b/c they send money b/c they're told the product is ready and then they don't get it for 6 months. GS shouldn't accept money or state that a product is ready to go until they can ship a properly fuctioning S/C. But I, too, will wait until everything is fixed before buying anything.
unclgreggy 11-01-2006, 12:35 PM extm,
YOU ARE RIGHT ON. my truck has the same problem and everyone I talk to has the same problem. It seems to die.
unclgreggy 11-01-2006, 12:36 PM BTW, everyone should be warned that the kooks headers are problem too.
srt8suv 11-01-2006, 01:30 PM unclegreggy,
I do agree with you.
guys,
I bought a kit from Stillen for my previous Armada, and it was perfect, and Stillen supported me to the point its up and running.
And also, I got a kit from Vortech too, and it was Great. I believe in those companies who treate thier customers to the best. Not just money hungry!
recentrisk 11-02-2006, 06:54 AM BTW, everyone should be warned that the kooks headers are problem too.
ugh... just to clarify, the headers work ok, they just set off a sensor? And isn't that something that they are working on fixing right now?
Does anyone know what GSM return policy is? I have a Supercharger in the box and the headers and midpipe come tuesday.
Has anyone had the supercahrger work for them?
How can they post the crazy performace claims if they are totally false?

Since the Headers didnt solve the CEL problem till today, I reommend you to wait and not to install them. (or have your stock Cats installed with the Headers, but am not sure if it will be OK)
For GSM, i dont know about their Policy, but I have heard a lot of issues in thier customer services here in the forum. I dont know if they are going to let you return it!
You may ask those guys here to bought the GS kit and have the word from them in regards to the performance, which I think it wasnt satisfactory from their posts.

Guys there is a fix in the works for the Headers as we speak. GSM has had some bad luck with their programmer, so it's not their fault completely. And yes they do need better customer service. They hide themselves until good is spoken about them. If you want to get things done right with GSM you have to go thru Scott. The other guys I see going soon, they need a major restructuring if they want to stay in business. I run a multi-million dollar business and if we treated Our customers like this, then we'd be extinct. JMTC. TFL. :D

They Dif need a major restructuring. I have never been dissapp. about such service in any of my business relations, as much as with GSM. Imagine the wait time I did, the things i went through, the problems i had with the parts and No customer support!! and I "even" have many things that I dont want to talk about it here in public.
They been telling me its worth the waiting for the kit all that time, and so I just kept silent, but what I have seen myself, it was not worth the wait.
basically, I was left in the dark all that period, and when I need tech support, it was even worser!
I would expect to buy a kit, deliver in a timely manner, receive the kit, not missing things, install it and runs perfect. We pay for something that it will work perfect as what they said . . . NOT for something that will give me a headache!!
YOu guys make your decisions!

I have the Kooks headers and mopar/corsa exhaust.......and although happy with the quality, sound and performance, the product should not have been released without at least the disclaimer that the Kooks headers "WILL CAUSE A CEL" and you have to learn to live with it.....

recentrisk 11-07-2006, 05:54 AM wow 3 weeks and not ONE person with a positive review!! I am getting mine installed today and I have such cold feet. I have had multiple people message me not to even install it at all!!
I am still going forward with it and going to assume the best of GSM. Wish me luck!

Well,
I wish you good luck, where I believe that you will be coming back and screaming why this and that, what is this and that.
I have contacted many guys on the forum here who I know that they have the kit, NON of them said a good thing, they all complained. Wonder why there is NO positive impact about the kit till today!! think !!

Scott,
Just to get these cleared out.
- I got your call as a missed call, it was 2am in my time
- I was calling GSM number (the same one for past 11 months) and if I do call the other, they have been asking me to call the international one! and only talk to Mike!
- I have told Mike many times that I need Tech Support, and I need him to point some1 for me, but he didnt.
- I got the PM and I will call them now
MatFab 11-07-2006, 02:15 PM scott- is there any kits up and running 100%? track times? dyno numbers? it seems there are a few kits out there figured someone might have got lucky.
Dr.Steve 11-07-2006, 04:37 PM hey Scott-
how about you check the thread you started about your logo floor mats and answer my genuine questions if you're not too overrun with people calling about their supercharger kits???????
