I have made up my mind that I would like to get a SRT8.Well, I currently own a 03 Yukon Denali XL w/ 38000 miles. I wanted to trade this vehicle in on a GC and possibly cover the rest. Well to my dismay I was quoted a trade in value for my Yukon and it was way below what I consider to be reasonable.

I know with gas prices the way they are a full size truck is at the bottom of everyones list. Thing is when you are considering gas mileage. The yukon is slightly better than the GC but it doesn't matter to the dealership. I mean c'mon, I trading a v8 for a v8..

I'm getting ready to put my srt4 up for sale as it sits with all the mods. If that doesn't pan out. I will put the car back to stock and trade the neon and the yukon in on a GC.

I will get one of these vehicles. I love the power and the looks..

Screw the trade-in, I would sell it outright if I were you, and use the money for down payment. I've never traded a car in my life & been happy with it.

they are right... to even consider trading in a yukon during this gas outrage is insane.. im surprised a dealer will even take it off your hands... there will be a pt in time dealers will just stop entirely on suv trade ins...

my guess is they offered you 12 for it...

demand has a dramatic effect on price and right now demand is at an all time low for big SUVs... and its only going to get worse...

luckily the srt8s are high performance and the supply is limited so we wont be effect as much... i say go for it and dont look back...

sell your srt4 and get a banger to commute in to compensate the jeeps MPG...

it makes me sick how much dealers make on used cars.. they'll make 500 fckin bucks selling a new one.. and make 4 k selling a used one... its ridiculous... but the consumer allows this...

or to lighten the blow of trading in your yuk why dont you considering buying a used srt8.. ? just a thought

I am considering a used srt8..This really bums me out because I bought the yukon in 04 with 22000 miles. It was not a daily and I took really good care of it. Now when I think I can reap a few benefits for the low mileage and the options, it bites me on the buttocks.

Well, I actually decided I wanted GC last week. I would have never thought about getting rid of the yukon, but I'm tired of it and its big.

The bad part is my cousin just bought a 04 xl denali for 25k last month. If I had know what I know now I would've glady sold em mine for a couple grand less.

I'm located in Burlington..I know I wont regret getting the GC but I'm trying to spend as little cash as possible but its not looking that way...Looks like I may have to fork over the cheese:eek:

Well they quoted me 14k..I'm not sure about the service interval..I will have to check that...

I know I added a outlaw intake, a Westers tuned pcm and a magnaflow catback to it which helped the performance considerably..

That's not too bad. What's the kbb, which is almost always way high, on trade for that car? $17k-18k? Take the mods off as they don't help anything on resale but hurt it--think of all the people that would buy one but for the exhaust and intake. Sell it on your own.

my bro had an 02 Nav with 78000 and he got 8500 for it. To many SUV on the lots right now. That 8500 was the best the scummy dealers would do. He had to eat a couple grand to get rid of it. Sell it outright if you can. It will take longer but maybe you can break even or with a little luck make a couple bucks extra for the new BEAST! good luck on your sale. Dealers will bleed you dry if they can!!!

As for keeping the srt4, It has been a good car but its time for me to move on..I bought the car brand new back in July 05..It has 8600 miles on the odometer. I really hope the low mileage will help me sell it quick as it sits..

Try carmax, get a quote from them; they always deal in cash. Any used car dealer will low-ball you, its the nature of the business. If you have patience, the best bet is to always sell outright to another individual and get 3-4 thousand more.
