: What we all hate to hear . . .
omegaman 10-27-2006, 12:49 PM The wife took the rig b/c her Navigator is getting detailed (and yet somehow I'm paying for it) and I get a phone call and she says, with the most evil undertone, "you better come get the truck before I go to jail" and then proceeded to tell me about all the races she got into (and won) on the way home. Now she's hooked and wants to drive it more often. I'm screwed. Pray for me.
Dr.Steve 10-27-2006, 12:52 PM I am praying for you my friend. . . sounds like you're gonna need it!
SI_G35Coupe 10-27-2006, 12:53 PM sounds like you got a wife who's into cars about as much as you are.... round here we call a woman like that "a keeper" lol
my previous 2 girlfriends both didn't know a thing about cars except that they had wheels and need gas to go... i wish i could find a gearhead girl

Yeah, I guess you're right on that point. I shouldn't complain too much. She gets her truck detailed more often than I do.

Bud you are 100% correct. You nailed it right on the button. Or something like that. I love chix who have a need for speed. I have had a couple G/F's that almost had heart attacks when they drove with me, so they always chose to drive. BooWhooo... I had to start keeping grocery bags in my car for chix that started barfing when I drove... pretty sad.. I know.. I need a good southern girl that likes to ride hard and heavy... :D
omegaman 10-27-2006, 01:38 PM Buy another one :)
Good idea, but as much as she loves the power, she loves the 06 Navi more. She was in a BMW 4.4 X5 and LOVED that power but traded it all away for the overwhelming size and un-parkability (that's a new word) of the Navi. I'm actually thinking of supercharging the Navi for her.
Plenty of excellent options out there for beefing up the Navi. You'll have no problems with that at all! I miss the size of the full sizer, myself.
Buy another one :)
I been looking to buy another one...about time...been single for 40+ years, but can't make up my mind to go with one from the phillipines, or Russia. Oh well, decisions, decisions....
BAD ASP 10-27-2006, 03:12 PM best just to rent em' by the hour:eek:

:D Too funny :D
I like the renting option. More flexible than leasing.
omegaman 10-27-2006, 03:30 PM Yeah, they usually are more flexible, aren't they?

Funny you should mention parking. I've been driving my 19.5ft long Chevy truck this week due to threating weather (and I haven't been driving it much since buying the Jeep) and I find it easier to park then the Jeep. This mostly due to familiarity with the larger animal, but the better mirrors and overall better outward visibility helps the truck. It's humorous that I easily back the truck into just about any space that it will fit into, yet I can't easily and quickly get the Jeep into the same size space (I'm a little more careful with Jeep near curbs due to the wheels, where the truck can run over curbs and not sustain any damage).

I have the same problem, I could park my quad cab Dodge 2500 on a dime, but this thing I just can't park. Always over the lines and in the space crooked, or too far away so I don't damage the air dam. I miss my truck.
rumpy 10-27-2006, 07:11 PM you guys crack me up
Black_SRT8 10-27-2006, 08:00 PM Best story ever!
HEMEEE 10-27-2006, 08:04 PM Everybody knows gurls don't know nuthin' about cars... or care! :D :p

I don't miss anything after driving the GC SRT8, and while I hate to admit it, I can't park this thing worth $h*t, either... It's almost embarrassing... Not embarrassing enough, though! ;)
I don't know what it is, I've been driving trucks, tractors, SUVs (another GC, ML 500, etc... ) since I was 14, no problems... Hell, I drove a John Deere Versatile through a small-town parade at 14 (the big, big guy)!!
But I have the same problem, this thing really throws off my sense of width, and where I'm at on these lines... And I'm still getting used to where the front-end stops, the older body's bumper stuck out a lot farther than this one does...
In terms of women driving this truck... I'm not married, so that's a tough one... Fine if I'm in it. But you're not borrowing it for a day, hells no!
Went on a 2,000 mile road-trip with my big Sis, and she refused to drive it, period. Which is fine, if you're scared to drive this thing, I don't want you driving it.
My mom, who usually drives a pricier, loaded ML 500, with 300 bhp was scared to drive my truck... The numbers and look is just that mean! Well, I talked her into it, and so we went... Of course she takes me on the ride of my life, I says to her "Mom! You don't have to drive it like you stole it, I'm right here!!" I don't think she computed... To be reasonable, though, this thing begs to be pushed...
Personally, I would ditch the SC on the Lincoln and get a 2nd one, unless you're towing (does the Lincoln tow?) but that's just me...
My thoughts and prayers go out to you... :)
GodfatherSRT8 10-28-2006, 12:58 PM Must be something in the air this week. Wifey took my truck this morning to do some shopping. She just got back about 10 mins ago. I went out and did a quick walk around the truck, making sure everything was okay.
I think its time to hide the keys from now on.
