I have been thinking about filling my tires with nitrogen. I have read alot of good stuff about it such as Increased gas mileage, longer tire life, etc. A guy I know priced it at 25 bucks a tire.

Nitrogen makes up like 3/5ths or 4/5s of the worlds air and you are going to pay to get the other 1/5 of it put into your tires?

i have been running nitrogen in my tires on the G35 for about a year. they DO maintain their pressure longer between refills IMO. i have it in both my sets of wheels (summer 19" rims with Toyo T1S tires and winter OEM 18" rims with Pirelli SnowSports)

Nitorgen is a waste of money. You should atleast check your tire pressure once a month anyways.

Always, with filling the tires with Nitrogen you will ALWAYS have to keep using Nitrogen to get the full affect. No point in filling up with Nitrogen and then topping off a week later with 'regular air.'

i run nitrogen in all my tires. it does keep a more constant pressure. some people dont believe in it (obviously by reading some of the posts), but i do. of course i didnt pay for my fill up, but i think it's worth the extra few bucks.

just curious as to why everyone is so down on it?

My buddy that races AHDRA uses nitrogen in his harley for the weight diff and the constant pressure due to temp.

weight difference? air doesn't weigh anything

it's not much in a tire but... a tire with compressed air does have more mass, and therefore weight, than an 'empty' one.

here's a short explination for nitrogen use in performace cars:

I love the SRT8 and all, but it is no race car. Hardly safe to compare the two, no?

but you can still take advantage of the "technology" (for lack of better word) that the racers use.
