Where in MA are you? I'm on the north shore, Peabody. All the dealers around here suck, service as well.

Thx Don. I will consider. I am not sure when I will be buying, but wanted to see if anything has changed. Kinda sitting on the fence right now.

None of those factor make the Jeep any cheaper to make... You are looking at a high performance SUV with a 400+ hp V8 who cares about gas??

In Newton...Brigham Gill, Herb Chambers, Randolph...they all sux...they all say something like "we need to talk. we will not be beat on price. what are you trading in?" like that has anything to do with what they sell the car for! MORONS

i am not talking about cheaper to make. I am talking about selling price at full sticker. last time I looked at bottom line factors, one thing that sticks out is the longer it sits on the lot, the less money the dealer is making...no sale, no money. or you could look at it as simple supply and demand...there are a lot more of these sitting around than there are buyers. as would the fact that there are over 10 in MA alone with 2007 to be had as well

AS times get harder the dealers have to make evey penny they can.... think about it they are more likley to wheel and deal when they are selling a ton of cars (more volume less margin) in tough times they have to capitolize on every sale...

Not that I agree with paying sticker....

try going to the closest dealership to them and say they have this jeep on their lot and I want to pay X for it and see if they will bring it over for you! worked for me on my wifes car (saved about 2500)

I bought my last Viper as a leftover from the previous year. Original sticker was $88,500 and I had 2 to choose from. One dealer about 5 miles away wouldn't go any lower than $77k, and one about 1500 miles away was willing to accept $65k- guess which one I took.

About a year later I went in for service at the local dealer and spoke with the GM that made me the $77k offer. Turns out they just sold the Viper for-wait, wait for it, ....................

$67k:eek: Idiots sat on the car for over a year when they had a buyer ready and willing to pay the going price for it in 2006.

Just before I bought my GCSRT8 if put in an offer on a leftover 2006 Mercedes E55. It was a demo with only a few thousand miles on it and a MSRP of over $92k- They were asking $70k and I offered them $63k. They said NO WAY so I decided to go for the Jeep(more bang for the buck). Now the car is listed for $63k and it was offered to me for under $60k. :thinkerg:

Moral of the story, even if you do all your homework and make a very reasonable offer based upon current market conditions, some pinhead behind the desk thinks he knows more than us:p
