: Sgt. Stanko Gets Screwed
Crank 05-10-2008, 11:27 AM Well I figured I will let you guys now what is really going on with Steve's Jeep. I ran into him at the track on Thursday and he was pretty mad. As most of us know he has always been a GSM groupie(can't think of another word) and became partial owner of engine development over at GSM. He had big plans with GS to make a monster Jeep and even ended up buying a 300 SRT as a daily driver. Well I can tell you this much, he got taken for a huge amount of money and by huge I mean some people don't make that amount of money in a year. Since he is no longer with GSM he ihas been left with an untuned Jeep. He will not be running the Icharger since there is another story to that but I am not hear to bash on anyone or their products. I just think that this was a big build we were all looking forward to and should be informed of.
SRT8Girl12 05-10-2008, 11:31 AM You guys wanna know? So here it is, start to finish, summed up. Stanko started to get involved wit GSM on the weekends, working his butt off, just trying to help people out who came to GSM. He though he could get GSM going by investing a some money into the company, and make a little money of his own, so he did. Let's just say it was a good amount. So Stanko was now in charge of the "Engine Division" of GSM. Without his knowledge, GSM was sold to another company who developed this I-Charger, spent all his money, and won't give it back. This "other company" decided they didn't want Stanko to be in charge of the engine division, so they started pushing him out of the company and actually thinking they could keep his money. So long story short, Stanko is not involved with GSM anymore, nor am I. If you want to do business with GSM, that is totally your call, but I would advise against it. I got permission from Stanko to tell you guys this, and yes, it's totally legal. FREE SPEECH. So there is the story summed up, and I watched it first hand. Now go ahead, have a field day with this! ;)
Just posted that up on another thread. More to the story!
Crank 05-10-2008, 11:32 AM Just saw that but wasn't sure if I should add the details.
SRT8Girl12 05-10-2008, 11:33 AM It's all good. I just got off the phone with Steve. I was told I could post what I know as long as it was all true, and unfortunately, this is all true!

veyronSRT8@TTCreations 05-10-2008, 01:44 PM dang steve, sorry to hear...hoping my "project" doesnt turn sour on me...not, it's definitely not a GSM project, but nowadays getting screwed seems to be the trend...all i know is that i made a huge payment in January and still have not received anything but problems and or excuses.
ResumeSpeed 05-10-2008, 01:51 PM Steve, best of luck in getting things straightened out with GSM. It's hard to believe that they, once again, shot themsleves in the foot and lost a very valuable asset.
dbrisson 05-10-2008, 02:24 PM Glad they didnt f up my rotor order, this was before things got bad, but I probably over paid.
GodfatherSRT8 05-10-2008, 03:11 PM Steve is a cool guy, sucks that this had to happen to him.
aplatero1984 05-10-2008, 03:29 PM Hey Guys, I copied this from one of the site. Hopefully Steve doesn't mind me posting this. I know he can't post here because he is banned.
"Let it be known that GSM is now run by an Australian prick. A prick that comes to my country illegally and steals $130,000 from me. A prick who shows up and teams up with a low life and sells phony stock subscriptions that are in violation of Federal Trade Commision Laws.
GSM is a company run by the rob from Peter to pay Paul. A company that does not pay its bills, can not get credit and all suppliers make them pay cash up front. A company that has collection attorneys showing up at its doors during business hours to collect tens of thousands of dollars they owe to others.
A company that I in good faith signed a five (5) year contract, infused 50k into an Engine Development Division and then defrauded me of $50,000 by selling 100% of the company to a foreigner who has no legal approval by the Federal or State government to do business here. Then he tries to strong arm me to get out.
The night Scott Quaranta showed up at my door step almost in tears begging me to buy $80,000 in stock of the ICharger. Making me promises of salary and ownership of the "core" company. Promising me a contract to be agreed upon the next day.
Warn those that need to be warned, do not buy anything from any vendor that wants your money up front before the product is delivered. Do not buy into the lies and fraudalent business practices of GSM and do not buy the ICharger for at least 2-3 years after others work out the bugs for GSM!!
Beware of taking your or leaving your car with GSM. I have seen them install used parts or remove parts from one car to another to get it out. They regularly abuse vehicles and use them as delivery vehicles for parts runs.
GSM stands for Grand Theft!!!"
Sorry that this has to happen. Hopefully you get things worked out.
BuilderBill 05-10-2008, 03:59 PM I have been very reluctant to say what I actually think about GSM since Steve was part of it and I consider him a friend.
The GSM creeps are are biggest bunch of crooks this side of Hennessey.
We collectively need to do what ever it takes to make sure none of our guys EVER spend a cent there!
Steve....sorry for you!

Blown7 05-10-2008, 05:10 PM I myself knowing the "Australian Connection" thru Email and speaking with him personally before Steve got involved with him, knew there was nothing good going to come of such an association. Actually the "Australian Connection" is probably reading this right now wondering how he can sue everybody who posted here for liable and slander. LOL
Jeff
SRT8Girl12 05-10-2008, 05:10 PM Thanks for all the comments guys. I know Steve appreciates it. Unfortunately, this was a horrible situation, and unfortunately there are a lot of crooks out there. I will now be joining all of you in letting everyone know not to buy from them. I would hate to see anyone else get screwed. GSM doesn't have anything any of the other vendors don't have or can get. Anyway, I appreciate your guys comments. Who knows, you might be seeing me on here as a vendor again....
Bang Bang 05-10-2008, 06:01 PM Sorry to hear of this, it really is sad. The list of bad business practices keeps stacking up for GSM. As a business owner myself, I could not imagine treating my customers or associates in such a way.

GSM tidbits
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a shame to see this type of crap go on for so long. I just felt like posting up a few of my personal opinions.
Personally, only had one dealing with GSM and that was a small product....CAI. From day one nothing but BS and lies. Was told in an email response, and then a follow up phone call the product was available and would go out next day. It didn't. Then it just went on and on. Lies about product availabillity, lies about shipping dates, etc. etc. Enuff said. It was enough to sour me on ever making another purchase from them again.
For you newer members who have not been around since 06 you may not be familiar with Sgt.Stanko/GeneralConfusion. Steve may have had a way of expressing himself that sometimes pissed people off, or made him seem to be confrontational. I prefer to think of him as someone who has never been afraid to vociferously voice his opions. He has been of great help to me and many others on more than one forum, and has never failed to step up.
I will say that on the surface it did appear to some that he had become a GSM groupy of sorts at times. He does live nearby GSM though, and was able to get service and results from them, partially I'm sure, from just being local.
However, when someone becomes an investor in a business, and makes that financial investment expecting to both make improvements in the overall operation by working there, and get a dollar return on said investment, the stakes change somewhat. I certainly hope Sarge had some detailed contractual, or at least written or paper trailed intent as to his association with that group.
I also have no doubts as to the sincereity of SRT8girl12, her statements, her belief that she could perform the work she purportedly was hired to do, and her apparent wise decision to hastily depart the company.
I have no axe to grind, but I for one will do everything I can to keep anyone from purchasing from them. At least until whoever "might" have bought them out comes forward with a mission statement or plan, as to how they will run that business.
For anyone newer to the forum or considering a purchase, as in the case of Hennessy, the search button and Google can be your friend.
To the Sarge I wish him the best of everything and hope it all works out well for him in the end. Sorry it ended that way.
To all here, sorry for the rant, but for an old guy like me, the amount of BS seen, and the instant purchases so readily available on the Internet today, make it quite easy for vendors to get away with a lot of smack. As they say, Caveat Emptor. Now on with the show..............

luvr 6.1 05-10-2008, 06:57 PM Let it be known that if anyone has doubts on Steve's ability to research & produce good engine parts for the jeep or what kind of person he is they need their head examined. I have been talking and dealing with Steve for the past 5-6 weeks on the Mondello Heads. These heads are his babies, and I knew it by talking to him and how much of his heart and soul he devoted to bringing them to market. He is a class act all the way and a man of his word. It is such a shame for him to go through this. I wished I had the money to run a speed shop because he and Tamara would be working for me.....so when you are watching my races this season keep in mind that even though the heads say "GS" Steve(sgtstanko) was incharge of 100% of these Mondello heads and them coming to market!
Remember the saying "You can't keep a good man down"................Steve I know you will be back with a vengence my friend!

Thanks for the compliment Kayce. And just so you know, GS doesn't have the rights to those heads...So, in fact, they aren't "GS" heads. I would call them "Stanko's Heads" if I were you...I will be getting these soon and that's what I'm calling them! ;)

Blown7 05-10-2008, 07:19 PM Well from from some intel that was sent to me I have to back up one step from Steve also.
Apparently from what email and PMs' I've been sent, the pics of the ICharger were fiberglass??
And photos were posted of supercharger installed in the car and Jeep was to get suckers lined up for the 3K prebuy??
And Steve knew that those presale pics were staged, phoney, and untruthful but never said so?? Until now??? After he has been taken??
I understand he may have had lost alot of cash lost by bad business decisions and luck but then again it seems for the time he was there,,,,,,,, he also played loose and not as pure as the wind driven snow........

I hate it when people tell the truth. BUT....from what I can gather, if Stanko lives and breathes these, sometimes people are driven blindly or believe the ends justifies the means, and for that I couldn't fault him. I really hope that he truelly believed in the product and those who shafted him, vs. along for the ride, and is now a bitter partner. Far too few people live to truelly serve others, hence the saying "money is the root of all evil". I hope things work out best for him and he gets every penny owed him, so he can jump back into the game. I hate to plug another vendor in a thread like this, but Eddie from Southern Hotrod is one of these folks....lives and breathes for the hobby. Maybe someday Stanko will cross paths with someone like Eddie, and we'll be the beneficiary of some awesome performance products, where the end state is to make $ serving the customer, not screwing them to get rich.

I've purchased products from and dealt with both BWoody & Southern Hotrod
and both vendors are first class. When I got my Kooks and coated intake from Eddie at Southern Hotrod he was there from beginning to end and never once could I not get ahold of him when I had questions. First rate all the way.

Hey Jeff,
Just got off the phone with Steve. He wants me to tell you to check your PMs over on the "other" site. ;)
Can't say as I'm surprised-- given that only 2 people between this and the old 'blue board' have actually been happy with GSM since I came around in early 2006. Hate to see anyone get taken for money..... but for someone with that much dough to fork over (and Steve's made it plenty clear in past, public arguments, just how much he has), he either should have done better DD, and had business details backed up in writing, or he's no worse off with the loss of money.
Still, it sucks that he was taken advantage of.
Street WK 05-10-2008, 11:19 PM The sad thing is... people will still buy from them.

He had everything in writing. Steve did everything he was supposed to in terms of business etiquette and logistics. Why am I defending him so much? Because I saw it first hand. And it shouldn't matter how much money someone has, no one should get taken advantage of, even if Steve has made it clear that he has money in the past. Just my 2 cents...

aplatero1984 05-11-2008, 12:36 AM Here is what Steve has to say:
"I have a written contract with GSM reflecting being a member/owner of a seperate "Engine Division" and related products. In business like a marriage trust is part of that union. So as ge2 put it, I did perform due diligence but some trust was also involved. When Scott duped me he violated not only my trust but laws as well. Until i started spending time there did I see the bills and collection actions against the company. Also, no matter how much money one may have, you worked hard for it, and when you put it and your precious time into such a venture it still hurts to get deceived.
As far as the I Charger, it exists but not as Scott has portrayed it and that portrail and people lining up to give 3k just to get in line makes me nervous and in my playbook is wrong. When Kayce/6.1 luvr wanted/ordered heads I would not take his money until the heads had been delivered. A smarter businessman would have taken a down payment. I believe in honoring a mans word and that a hand shake means something. He received his heads 2 weeks after we talked and then I billed him.
As far as the ICharger I was an investor, not the inventor, designer or fabricator. I was kept from the status and lied to everytime a milestone was to be met. I was shown documents that were falsified and lets say not "approved" for this country.
If you want to do me a favor post this so they understand that "any" information they may be getting is not by accident. Blown7 rushed a bit to judgement on his assumption, and needs to understand that I was on a high speed rollercoaster that once on to jump was suicide.........guess what??? I jumped."
hope this clarify a few things.

Ok got it, now to expose Richwood/Mueller for what he is......
Jeff
"Until i started spending time there did I see the bills and collection actions against the company. "
.... to me, that isn't really doing your DD. You should know everything about a company and their books before you invest.
I'll say it again though. I do feel badly for anyone who is duped and taken advantage of. It just ain't right..... BUT no party is 100% innocent here. Steve may be the nice guy of this wrong-doing, but I still remember his very immature and childish antics used in arguments here and over at the old blue site, so I just may not feel as sorry for him as some do. Admittedly from that standpoint, I may be being a bit skewed in my views.
Plus, I've never been a big fan of people having other people post their defenses for them ;)

OurZoo 05-11-2008, 06:37 PM Back when I first purchased the SRTs late in 06, GSM's rep was not so great and I was very wary of doing any business with them. It was due to the recommendation of Jay AKA DNTNVME, that I did give them a chance. I began going over there quite a bit and did a few mods and spent a few bucks. Scott was a good guy and always took the time to answer my questions. Having Jay over there as staff was a definite bonus in my book (for them and me), as I had already been friends with him for 3 years. That and I always ran into Stanko when going over there to boot. We developed a pretty good friendship with each other due to the trips to GSM and racing at Irwindale. He is a kickazz dude btw! It's just very unfortunate and disturbing to hear about EVERYTHING that everyone has experienced. For me it hit home the most with Jay leaving and now this! You're a pretty cool chick too Tamara lol. I wish you luck Steve in getting back your money and we'll talk soon. We have not seen the last of Steve nor Jay....;)
Jected 05-11-2008, 08:44 PM Being an Aussie myself, I am embarressed that one was involved with this garbage. That is just not on. I don't know whats happened except for what I have read on forums and it is none of my business, but I do wish you all the best with this situation
I hope it all works out for you and resolved as quickly as possible.

Yes they are. They do more than Mopar/Dodge though. I was told they are revamping their website. They also have a dyno, which is where Stanko is having his Jeep tuned. I spoke with the owner yesterday, Josh, and he really knows his stuff. What kind of work do you need done?

Okie dokie! :D
dntnvme 05-12-2008, 12:42 AM Back when I first purchased the SRTs late in 06, GSM's rep was not so great and I was very wary of doing any business with them.
Drewsky, I saw this coming a long time ago, so that is one of the reason I left GSM. I also was tired of being lied too and being put in the position of not being able to fulfilled my customers wishes. I wish Steve all the best of luck and I hope from now on he knows I am a true friend end deed.
I always try to look out for my friends and my customers, I am still around and I will continue to be around...
Jay

I don't believe that GSM was familiar with Mopar/Dodge at all, at least not in a professional or experienced sense.
Can anyone name a single product developed by GSM...
1) That was properly tested before being brought to market?
and
2) That performed as advertised?
and
3) That was not overpriced?
and
4) That fit correctly?
and
5) That was not missing installation components?
and
6) That came with clear instructions?
and
7) That did not have issues?
and
8) That did not exhibit an excessively high failure rate?
and
9) That was promptly shipped?
and
10) That was properly supported after the sale?
If so, please list here:

I think the floormats might fall under No. 3... didn't they just iron a sticker to another company's mats and triple the price?
