tore the crap out of my lower fascia. I was cruising along on I70 in Illinois and suddenly a very large cat decides to attack the front of my Jeep! Ok, it was just running accros the highway, but it managed to hit the front, just to the right of the passenger fog light and put a nice big dent in the plastic. The worst damage was behind the fascia. It ripped the plastic where the front bracket attaches and tore some plastic out of the fender well. I'm going to need a new front fascia. So my friends BEWARE of attack cats on the prowl they are out there and just waiting to pounce on unsuspectig SRT drivers

I heard it thump and bump down the bottom of the jeep and go cartwheeling into the air just missing the drivers windshield of the car behind me. If it weren't for the fact that he was right behind me, I might have tried to slow down some.

Anyone have any idea how much the fascia is???

Front bumper cover is stupid pricey. Go to Just for Jeeps and you will see a price - thinking about $800 US. By the time you mount and paint it...expensive cat.

Edit - From Just for Jeeps Site

SRT8 Front Bumper Package: Front Bumper Fascia $652.50

That really sucks. I hit a possum the first week I got mine, then a month later I took out a raccoon. Both times I got away with no damage, just a big mess. I have never hit any animals before this SRT8, this thing is a Killer....

what lane were you in that you had no time to stop as the cat was running across? how fast were you moving? what was the speed limit?

I have to admit I did feel bad about the cat. It was likely someones pet. I was running in the passing lane about 80 when I caught the blur out of the corner of my eye, it just missed the car on my right when It ran in front of me. It might have made it if I had tested the brembo's stopping power. The only trouble was the car behind me was too close to do that. I would have been cleaning BMW from my tail pipes if I had slammed on the brakes.

I'm going to take it to the stealer and get an estimate and then go to my insurance. If I can get it fixed up for under a grand I won't even get insurance involved.

I had to replace mine last winter, $1300 to have the dealer do it. I would have gladly paid $1300 to hit a ditch tiger, but I hit a chunk of snow that came off of a semi at 70.
