: What do you think of this customer service?
As my build is nearing completion, I ran into a snag for tuning. All I needed was the CMR software. HHP fell flat on their face and spent two weeks planning nothing. I have a cal guy that is very familiar with forced induction tuning but does not have the software to perform his magic. (He wants to remain out of the spotlight so I have named him "Wilson") So all HHP needed to do was arrange the use of their CMR software.
Here is the nuts and bolts of this thread. After two weeks of BS from HHP I called Eddie at Southern Hotrod. Within 3 minutes he said I will be there to help out in anyway I can. I could not believe what I was hearing. The only thing I have bought from him was my Borla exhaust. Eddie arrived last Friday afternoon and is still here. He leaves tomorrow evening. I just want you guy's to know what a great person Eddie is, and what a help he has been to MatFab and myself. Saturday night we pulled a all nighter. With Eddie and "Wilson" using the CMR software I'm sure we will have it dialed in. Here is a pic of Eddie, I think it was the only time he sat down in day's, lol.

GodfatherSRT8 04-28-2008, 09:27 PM Way to step up Eddie, Road trip to Michigan for some CMR tuning anyone?? Its only a 4 hour drive from me.
BuilderBill 04-28-2008, 09:33 PM Yepper...Eddie is the guy that dialed in my 426 before it was sent on "vacation" to UV.
BTW, "UV" said Eddie had my tune spot on!;)
Anyway, what the hell is he doing sucking down the suds?
With all the work he has to do, Eddie needs to get you dialed in and get the hell back home.
Great going in getting Eddie involved with ...... "the team"

Brian, you have undermined a lot of the help we've been giving you since day one. We have bent over backwards for you and it's sad that you don't even know the half of what we've done for this build. I had one of the best supercharged tuners from Diablo who HAS and IS very experienced with the Dodge CMR practically lined up to be on board as a team member, and who is also local to you (which is perfect for the constant retuning) BUT your impatience got in the way. Had it been only that you needed CMR I would have lent it to you if that's all you needed. The networking I had to do and strings I had to pull can take time and the quickest solution is rarely the best solution. You always want the quickest solution. My focus was on getting someone extremely experienced with the Dodge CMR and forced induction to work with your tuner. Getting CMR is easy. I'm certain had you let things progress the right way, my way, there would not have been any delays on this part. Your lack of focus on the true problems at hand are making you blind to the real issues at hand. What we've given you every step of the way is priceless and our experience unmatched.
Our customers who make $30,000 a year are just as important to us as our customers who make $15,000,000. And we feel we should receive the same respect from both.
[I'm sorry to the rest of you guys to have to put this post up here. We very rarely get involved in something like this in full view or get involved in anything negative but I feel strongly that it had to be done.]
Joshua, HHP
Ok... I have to put my .02 in.
The number one thing that you have missed here is that the Pump Gas Drags are NEXT WEEK! It is NOT impatience, it just needed to get done.
That's all I have to say.
OurZoo 04-29-2008, 11:09 PM Eddie came out there for you and all you bought him was Light beer? Lol! :) Mad props to Eddie!
Mango 04-30-2008, 05:48 AM Amazing! Eddie is the man.
08srt8Calgary 04-30-2008, 06:06 AM 2 weeks for the tune is patient. Specialized talents and equipment take more time compared to the basics, but at some point the consumer has to decide what is right for them- and for Brian... it was obviousely time to bring Eddie (and some beers) in.

At least they bought tall boys. Either that, or Eddie's really really small.
+1 for the customer support from Eddie. He goes over and beyond what's expected.

Easy bro on the attack of one issue. I know MY JEEP had to take a backseat due to Bruce flying to YOUR jeep to help out with installs and make sure things went in well. HHP has been nothing but good to me. Everything takes time. I'm waiting right now for work to be done but when its done right, its worth the wait. I am sure Eddie did a great job but to bash someone who does great work over one aspect of your entire build is a little harsh. I'm glad you had someone to call for immediate assistance but HHP (Josh and Bruce) are stand up guys and will go beyond to help out and make sure things are done well.
Just my two cents!

UHHH he wasn't waiting on a custom grind cam or forged pistons it was a tune, would you wait 2 weeks for a tune-doubt it
JTSRT 04-30-2008, 09:19 AM UHHH he wasn't waiting on a custom grind cam or forged pistons it was a tune, would you wait 2 weeks for a tune-doubt it
Actually I've been waiting almost a month for throttle body, ported intake, and custom dyno tuning, etc. So 'UHH' yea, I would wait. I know they do good work and I also know they bust their tales working long hours. This is one aspect in a long build up.
CentralTexHemi 04-30-2008, 12:28 PM I agree and sorry if I came across as a butt, I do believe there is 2 sides to every story so I will just leave it at that, please accept my apologies JTSRT

T-Time 04-30-2008, 07:05 PM Wow!
I was way off, I had Eddie pictured as a heavy set guy, full facial hair. Who would have guessed he looks like someone working in the Fonz's garage on HappyDays, except for the shoes. Thanks again for the Kooks! Eddies demeaner makes me want to buy more mods.( from him ).
