hi guys,

i'm coming over from the WJ offroading world and looking to get a srt8. i haven't seen too many of these in atlanta and was wondering if there are any fellow ATL'ers here that would chime in.

i currently have a wj that's lifted and wheeled often but now that i've seen the srt8 i've caught the bug!!

this fourm seems to be the right place to start and i look forward to soaking up all the madness that on-road jeeps have to offer :)

I'm not from the Atlanta area (obviously, by my username), but I just had to respond.

I had to chuckle when I saw your quote above. If you just "saw" the SRT8 and think you have the bug, don't bother to test drive one until you are ready to write the $40K+ check...

I had the bug when I had seen my first one at the Pittsburgh Auto Show in February, but I didn't get a chace to drive one until I finally saw a "gently" used one on a lot in August...

Two weeks later, there was a brand new one in my garage...

It's a sickness...:D

heh, im sure the onroad 'bug' is the same as off-road bug. i've wheeled the heck out of my wj and now that i'm looking to make it into a 80% off-road vehicle i started to lookaround for an on-road vehicle and daily driver.

im not much of a street-car guy so i didn't really look at too many vehicles that were catered to the 'speed' crowd. but when i saw the srt-8 it was love at first sight! my criteria for a daily driver was good gas mileage, comfortable ride, pleasant on the eye...yada...yada...yada.

one look at the srt-8 and i realized 'too hell with the criteria' i want that JEEP!!! my fiance likes it also so after our wedding in may we're gonna look into getting one. i'm going to be trolling this forum picking up as much as i can...great another jeep addiction :)

Im from Louisiana but I traveled to Stone Mountain Jeep near Atlanta to get mine. They were they ones that had the Jeep I wanted and was willing to sell it at employee pricing during the DCX promo.
