i was wounder if anyone had a costom system or just costom built subs in their car and if you have pics of them. i have some pics of mine and will post them if people is interested. i just have 2-12in arc adio's and an 800 watt amp with a capacitor and a costom box and getting regular quality speakers put in at the end of the month with another amp.

Pioneer Premier cd player and changer. First system I've ever done myself. Sounds good but I really need a capacitor or better battery, when the bass hits all the lights dim :cool:

I am getting ready to start a pretty major overhaul ofthe audio system. Hopefully be done aorund february (working part time on it) I'll post pictures when I am done. It will be pretty stealth, I'm not into flashy.

yeah no flash here either. the only thing visable is the sub box.

Are the lights dimming while the engine is running or not running? If it's when running, does it dim while driving or idling or both?

when the bass hits the lights dim. running, not running, at idle, at speed, crusing, all the time. I just think the 1000/1 and 450/4 are too much for the stock charging system.

You need a bigger alternator to support those amps, something like a Stinger 250amp. Caps are also a good idea for SQ reasons but those alone won't solve your problem. Dual battery is optional if you upgrade the alt (again, not a bad idea but not required either).

That's where I was going with my questions. Based on the answer, you are right on, a high capactiy alternator should solve the problem when the car is running.

search for idealrides. he has a nice custom set-up.

I looked into upgrading the sys. twice...both times I was told I had to re-do the whole thing(amp/crossover). Is this true? What are you guys paying if you are re-doing them? Does the bluetooth in the rearview and voice dialing still work? Is the warranty still valid?

from what i know the waranty is still valid, i think, when i got my jeep serviced i had about an hour convo about systems and all that crap and he loved mine so.....ill get some pics of my tomarrow, its pretty basic and its still in the works, my set-up is just temporary until next summer where theyre going to redo everything and make it more flashy for free because theyre posting it on their site so they can get more cosomer and all that. ill have some pics up tomarrow.....im also gette jl next summer as well since the arc's arent as loud as i would like.

warranty yes. blue tooth no, its lost when you remove the factory radio, at the time this didn't bother me as I didn't have a blue tooth phone but it figures company gave us blackberries with blue tooth.
