We'll today I was out and about with work minding my own business and I see a police car up ahead and cautiously slow. It appeared to be parked so I didn't give it to much thought. Then the door opens, Ok. Then the officer kinda strolls across the street into my lane AND THEN LOOKS AT ME AND GIVES ME THE GENTLE WAVE. Crap . So I put my seatbelt on really quick, pull over and roll down the window. The officer politely asks for my Lic & Reg which I give to him and then he asks do you know why I pulled you over and I was like No sir. You were doing 42 in a 30 and walks away. So I wait and he comes back after a few and starts to hand me a ticket at which time I ask if there's a chance of getting a warning (my record is pretty clean) He says that no he's out here on orders for his captain and that some lady got plowed down here and the driver left. Crap

The officer was nice enough and I am not here to flame him as he was just doing what he was told.

My question is, on the ticket he did not put the speed down. He just marked "Unlawful Speed". In the comments section He wrote "Radar ######"

Is this a technicality or normal protocol? Thats the first ticket where the speed was not indicated and a radar was referenced.

Ultimately I will give it over to a lawyer but was just wondering if he made a mistake on the ticket.

And by the way, this was not in the Jeep. Ironical I have yet to get pulled over in the Jeep. I guess I should be thankfully

Yes its an error on the ticket. More that likely, when it comes time for court he will forget the speed that you were targeted at. Also, the radar has to be calibrated

Fight it.

but just because it doesn't show the speed on your copy - doesn't mean it's not on his. It means didley squat

But why did he reference the radar with a number, what importance does that have?

In the section "other violations or comments pertaining to offence" he wrote "Radar 27635" are they saving the info to a computer file?

He's probably just making a note of the S/N of the unit - part of an officers notes on every stop

It is a carbon copy ticket.

but here, the upper portion is also CC but the lower portion can be written on but doesn't copy to the others - thats where the notes go
