Took the GC on a long road trip from New Orleans to FT Worth and Digital guage pod indicated 242 Degrees, Temp Guage was indicating around 215. Engine didn't explode and I made it round trip, just wonder if anyone has seen these kind of temps. I know SRT ? and answer folks say the temps are supposed to be high, but is this too high compared to others?

That seems a tad high to me. I ran my Jeep to 150 mph and the fluid temps were 235. Normally, after extended driving, they are 225-228.

You are correct-it is the engine oil temp...If it were for H2O, that is way to high. The 240ish is ok...

Now isn't that fancy...learn something new everyday. My thought pattern was taken from my 98 Formula where the indicated water temp guage was different than the measured value from the computer, figured Jeep one upped that...they did, just in a different way. Thanks for the info.

ME. The needle is dead center all the time. My fluid is low and I rape her all the time. That's why I bought the 180 deg thermo. Came in today. Installing tomorrow.

Yes - it cools the engine more often to lower the temp.
Sometimes it helps to lower all the windows, open the sunroof, hit the temp to max (hot), turn off the AC, and hit the blower the MAX too. Circulates coolant. Do it for a few minutes and you should lower the engine temp.
You might sweat a bit, but it could be worth it, if you have a problem.
