Hey guys.

I did a search and didn't find anything on the size of tire I was looking at.

I want to put 22" wheels on and also put a little taller tire on to help fill up the wheel well. So far I have came accross two tires that I am considering.

1st choice: Toyo Proxes S/T
Front: 285/45R22 Overall diameter of 32.2" and width of 11.2"
Rear: 325/45R22 Overall diameter of 32.2" and width of 12.8"

2nd choice: Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico
Front: 275/45R22 Overall diameter of 31.7" and width of 10.8"
Rear: 305/40R22 Overall diameter of 31.6" and width of 12.0"

I would really prefer to run the Toyo's if I could. I am not sure if the rear tire is too big though. I know that I will need an 11" wide rim but that is another hill to climb.

Is there room to fit these tire sizes?????

Thanks guys!!!

I think the Toyos would be a tight fit. You'd be significantly increasing your width over stock. You'd have to really play with your offset or backspacing to get as tigh into the suspension as you can, but I'd still bet that you'd be sticking out the side, probably darn near 1 inch further than your stockers. It could work, but I think the extra rubber sticking out of the fender well would not be a really clean look. You'd probably also be looking at an 11 inch rear wheel. I'll be keeping tabs on this thread. It'll be interesting to watch and see what you decide on. If you're able to shoehorn a 325 back here, it would really open up some possibilities for folks.

Thanks, I can't wait until I do get back so I can do these things!!

It is not that I really want to put a tire that wide in the rear, but the overall diameter matches perfectly with the front. I have been looking online for someone who makes a 22"x11" wheel and couldn't really find anything. I am thinking of calling Boyd Coddington or Foose and see if they will built me a custom wheel. Does anyone know of other companies that will build a custom wheel with custom offsets and widths?

I wouldn't mind rolling the fenders a bit to get those meats to fit either. How much more room is there in the rear wheel well with the stock rubber? I looked at goodyears site and I believe it said the stock width of the rear tire was 11.4".

Boyd will build to spec for a premium, but MHT (Foose) will not. Any multi-piece, forged wheel company will build exactly to your specs though. WTW (GFG), Lowenhart, HRE, Davin etc.

Be careful - you have to match the front and rear perfectly (I don't mean the same size, rather the same ratio) not to destroy your AWD and the tranny / transfer case, etc. It's calibrated perfectly for the wheels you have on right now. I want 22's or 24's, but I'm doing mad research to keep my Jeep from being destroyed.

ge2,

Thanks for the names of the wheel companies. I have been able to find some wheels that I am interested in and around my price range (1200/wheel). I think that I am understanding right that when they have a size listed as "22x" they will build that model to any width you need. It really isn't a big problem since the wheels that I am interested in come in ranges of 9" to 11" which is what I would need.

Thanks!!
