I told my local dealer here in Vancouver, Canada that I wished to have a 2008 SRT8 in silver. They said leave it to them to try and locate one for me. They had a black one available immediately, but I wanted silver.

Now, they tell me it's too late to order an 08. I can order an 09, but there would be minimal cash incentives :(

Calling all black SRT8 owners out there, how is the black to care for? I know that black vehicles are a *itch to keep clean and that all nicks and scratches show up. What's your experience?

Hardest to keep clean and the paint SHOWS EVERYTHING.

I find it hard to believe that they can't order a 08 for you. Check with Don he will tell ya. As for black, yes it is very hard to keep clean but it looks killer' and is also the fastest color.;) Get Black.

black is definitely the hardest color to keep clean. And even the lightest scratch will chip paint. We must have some really cheap @ss paint on our cars. The paint on my old '04 Jet Black bimmer touch scratches harder.

Bro- you live in Vancouver. I didnt mind owning black as much when I lived down there. The paint will show everything, but at least it will rain every other day and you will have a clean, wet looking (cause its wet) black truck. If you can scam a deal, get the black- with tint they are deadly looking. I brought 2 black vehicles out to alberta when I moved out here in 98, and the dust and wind was horrible. I wouldnt own a black vehicle in alberta again.

if you are talking about Brilliant Black, than you are in luck. this color is much easier to maintain than black clearcoat, especialy when it comes to swurls, scratches, and spidermarks. BB is simular to the Cozmos Swarts found on the famed E36s.

oh and fastest? if you have black CC, your second, don't even wanna talk about the red-enything:eek::D
