Most I have taken the beast up to is 135mph, and the scary thing it felt like the truck was itching to go faster.

It seemed to have more, I need to try again - will do next week, very stable, I have a 2006 porsche which is not as stable at that speed. Unbelievable!
Can,t wait to do the heads and add the headers and exhaust.

He is absolutely right, this thing is very stable feeling at speed. I have been waiting for some better weather here to make another speed run for you guys. I have done 165 a few times and the only thing I am worried about is a tire going bye-bye. It is much more stable at 150+ than my Infiniti G35 Coupe. Very entertaining ride!!

I did 165 mph several times too the last 3 weeks.

A few rpms are still left.

Maybe it's so stable, because of our good autobahn streets here in germany.

It is surprising how easily and quickly this vehicle reaches 125.

It really is. I would have thought it would die after 100-110 but it seems to pull almost as hard there as it does 70-100. That definitely impressed me:)

did 140 a few times today with the vehicle still pulling hard

..at 5500 ft

went driving with my friend and his evo, he didn't completely murder me in the corners and i was actually a bit quicker in the straights. those big brembos came in handy a few times though

we both ran out of balls before we ran out of grip though I have some wear on the tires that can attest to just how hard I was pushing the vehicle

balls out driving like that on deserted windy roads is almost as good as sex

its really fast to reach 140 mph and then it slows down, but i made it to 165mph, and that was my best. no mods on the car till today, 2007 black :D

I also have reached 140 mph but ran out of straight road. This is the fastest brick that I know of. But I won't be trying that anytime soon with the 22"s on.

Got her to 145 last night, eating an older Mercedes CL500 in the process. Not to sound like a broken record, but it still felt great at speed. I also think I killed around 1,000,000 bugs while doing so:D

Is there a governor that limits the speed to 155 mph? I read somewhere that there was.

Here is a quote from the SRT Engs...

==> The GC SRT-8 is not speed limited. Once the aero and tire drag equal the available power, the car stops to accelerate. This happens at about 165 MPH.

So what's it like going up VC or Mt. Rose hiway? I miss those roads.
I may be getting into 1 or 2 open road challenges in Nevada next year.

Haven't done either yet, though now that you mention it I will probably find myself on the way to VC this week. Rose highway should be interesting as welll

The area I was referring to was Red Rock.

I've been eyeing the silver state classic for some time. Shoot me a pm if you end up doing that or come down this way for any other reason. :)

Yes it is amazing how fast this thing accelerates. You hit the gas pedal for a second and your already doing 100MPH. I have one question tho, whenever I exceed 100+ MPH, my GC SRT8 starts getting noticeably wobbly, which feels very uncomfortable at high speeds. I am not sure if I need an alignment or what, I only have a little over 1K miles on my baby. From what you guys are saying, this thing should be handling like magic over 100MPH. I just thought maybe it was the road or the wind. But it does it everytime, on different roads and without wind. I guess I'll have to take it in. PITA!!!

I wonder what would be the max speed of it when supercharged? in otherwords, when you hit the Rev limiter at the 5th gear?

BTW, on a windy day, i alway hear a loud Whistling sound!! couldnt figure out why? i guess the front bumber is so fat for that wind, or the big wheels.. did guys experience it?

Huh .... ??? what are you talking about?

Edit: now i see it ... deal with it you puss ... its the truth, not some exaggeration. They are cheap jews at that dealership ... the truth, not sarcasm.

Its not a racial remark either ... Judaism is not a race, its a religion - get your ass back to school.

you're right, he should have just called you an anti-semitic a-hole, but instead I guess I'll have to. . .keep your remarks civil please, we all come from different places here, let's have some common respect
