Is there a way to switch back to automatic from slapstick without going up to nuetral then back into drive?
Also wondering if it is quicker off the line in auto?
I'm guessing that slapstick is for downshifting at higher speeds.

Is there a way to switch back to automatic from slapstick without going up to nuetral then back into drive? Yes, just push to the right & hold it a few seconds & it will return to [D].

jms935 No faster off the line as it starts in 1st either way. The slapstick is good for several scenarios though. On occasion you may want to start out in 2nd gear when roads are slippery, it's also handy for gearing down to knock off a little speed w/out braking, and when traveling on the interstate with hills you can select a gear to keep the trans. from searching.

All you have to do is hold the shifter to the right for a second and it will switch to drive.
