I was just on a dealers website and I was checking out the new 2007 Jeep SRT8's. And those SRT8's come with alot of options they shafted us on.
I was told by my dealer originally that my 2006 Jeep SRT8 would come with Premium Front & Rear Floor Mats with SRT Logo, along with Remote Start System, Body-Color Sill Extension, Navigation/Rear Back-Up Camera (ParkView(TM) Rear Back-Up Camera) and Leather Trim Seats w/Preferred Suede.

These are all options that we got jipped on. And now we have to go thru the Dealer/Mopar to have these accesories installed for an un-goddly(sp) price. If anyone wants to check out what I'm reading just go look at a 2007 Jeep SRT8's Window Sticker and look at all the extras for the new year. I mean don't get me wrong I love my SRT8, but I just hate when car mfg's pull this ****. And remember this is what my dealer told me. Shouldn't of listened to the SOB. JMTC. Buyer Beware.

The only items on your list that you did not get are Remote Start and the rear camera. And the '07 models cost roughly $400 more than the '06 models so you didn't get "gypped" too bad.

LOL...premium mats :) These are the same crappy, undersized mats with an SRT logo...BFD!!!
Don't we have body color sills and Leather seats with suede???
Rear view cam is included on 07 (supposedly) with the NAV option only...not standard or available without this $1300 option.
Remote start standard with SRT1 option package (over $3000), you can add this for a few hundred thru the dealer parts dept if you don't mind having a second remote...hopefully the 07 has it integrated into one remote???

I'm waiting to see if the 08 gets the nicer interior (like the German SRT8) and then I'll just trade for one of those to get painted bumpers, rear view cam, etc.

Still you have to admit those are TWO nice options. Their not neccesities but they would make life easier for me over here in Ohio. Especially during the winter time to have the remote start. And my damn driveway is very hard to get out of backing up, especially with all the little neighborhood kids zooming past your drive. You have to be very careful these days. I used to do a fishtail/burnout pulling out of my driveway. Oh well. JMHO.

You won't here me complain about the 07's coming with more options since I got my SRT8 with the employee discount. With the way gas prices are going down, I don't think they will be offering that again anytime soon. There is a dealership here that just sold a used '06 for 47k.

I agree, $5100 off sticker made the deal a no brainer on my 06.

I agree, my dealer never told me anything about the "pros" to buying an '07. I was just told that I was saving so much $. The '07's are now $39999+(depending on options) so I only saved a little, but will lose it on trade-in. It's the game dealers play.

It all has to do with timing. If you want something right now, there will be a cost to it, this being not getting the most up to date options, etc. All you guys that get the 2007's will be saying something about the '08's when they come out eventually.

I was considering getting a 2007 GC. However, as was mentioned above, the EP deals in August were too good to pass up. Getting mine at 2% below invoice was excellent, plus saving the sales tax on that discount. We'll hold on to it for a while, so any difference is going to be minimal in the end.

If you want to drive the newest vehicle, do a two year lease and keep tradin' them in.

I was looking at 06's when EP was out and I decided to wait cause fuel prices were sky high! I just picked up a 07 cause I got a killer deal and because it has rear camera and remote start.

First, the camera isn't that great of quality, I'm dissapointed!
Remote start, A++ Love it!

It happens every year! I can't be upset next year because it's going to have touchscreen nav, and upgrade interior! Enjoy what you have now, if you keep thinking I should have waited you'll never be able to enjoy it!

Everytime I complain about not having the rear view cam and painted bumpers my wife reminds me I only paid 41K. Gotta love EP.:) :)

2 things about my '07 GC SRT8; 1:Yeah the back-up cam image isn't very good. Still, once you learn exactly where the bumper is relative to that image, it's good enough. 2: The only thing you need to remember about the remote start is that it only lets the engine run for 15 minutes per event. Still, that should be plenty of time to get it warmed up in the Northern winters.

All in all, this thing rocks!!!

So is the remote still on a seperate remote???

BTW, my aftermarket remote start on my truck only allows it to run 10 minutes and that was always enough here in Texas :) I'm not planning on doing remote start on the Jeep when I have the aftermarket alarm installed...mostly b/c it's in a garage all night and doesn't get that cold (or hot) AND I can't really use it a work since the vehicle is parked too far away to activate remote start (my current remote start work up to about 150 feet and that's still not enough...I imagine the range on the OEM is much less).

No, the remote is all in one.

does the 2007 models have stronger door hinges or are they still weak and kick your ass everytime you get in and out?

"JEEP" floor mats here. I bought the headlight protectors, floor mats, cargo liner, and pet barrier from weathertech.com. I'd love to have some nice SRT8 mats.

What is better about the German SRT interior? Pictures?

Picked up my 07 about two weeks ago and the floor mat logo says 'JEEP' and according to the window sticker these are "premium". Did you get the rear air deflector, I did not ,but they may come with later production.

The 07 JGC (DCX Vehicle) at the Nats had no slotted rotors, no rear air dam, mats?, no rear camera option but had the factory auto start option. I paid sticker plus! So don't complain about being jipped. I'm not sorry but paid big bucks and get VIP Treatment at my Dealership, plus jobber parts prices! Gene
