So im driving home yesterday on a roadtrip and get an annoying LIFTGATE OPEN MESSAGE along with the ding. It has not gone away since, even after restarting the vehicle and letting it sit overnight. Anyone else ever experience an issue similar to this?

Thanks

Try opening and closing the lift gate to see if maybe that might clear it.I know with mine if I hit the button it does not open but just stays closed and looks like is closed.

Just had the same problem, if not fixed the alarm will start going off and the interior lights will stay on It's the Latch on the Liftgate, there is a sensor in it that goes bad.

Ya I have tried closing and opening with no luck. No alarm issues yet, but it keeps the lights on so I had to manually disable the interior lights. Off to the stealer tomorrow.

I have the opposite problem, when the Liftgate is ajar I get NO message... if the glass is open I get a message though.

You should have that checked out because if someone were to break in through the liftgate the alarm wouldn't sound. The vehicle would think the liftgate was closed. It maybe nothing more than a wire off.

I just noticed it the other day and haven't had a chance to dig into it to see what's wrong.

Same problem happened to me last week. Dealer replaced latch in gate. The sensor that relays whether the gate is open or not is in the latch assembly. They replaced...problem went away

As mentioned I would get no warning messsage when the liftgate was ajar or open. Last night I pulled the liftgate trim and wiggled the wires to the liftgate latch connector. Viola! Intermittent operation of the display warning. Checked the wires and one had slipped out of the connector a bit. Seated it back in and all works perfect now.

I had this happen, it completely freaked out on me, pinging off and on about 1000 times over a 12 hour drive. It was most annoying. I had the dealership install a new sensor and all has been good since.

Dodgeboy is spot on... As if thats not annoying enough... after a few weeks, the alarm began screaming at all hours of the night... Dealers have a TSB for it, dont let em tell you they dont!

Had this exact problem and the TSB someone posted in thi thread totally fixed it. They have to reverse wires in the sensor I think.
