I was wondering what type of maintenance you guys would recommend for a new car. I have heard that you should change the oil and diff fluids at or around 800-1000 miles.

My dealer is saying my IS-F doesnt need an oil change until 5000 miles. Seems like a long time for such a high performance car.

Let me know what you guys would recommend or what you have experienced with new cars.

I just had my axles oil changed at 18,000 which is 3,000 late. There wasn't any metal on the magnets, but the fluid was dark and the tech. said it was due. It was 350.00 so I'd wait on that. I'd just change the engine oil.

Per the owners manual, it recommends changing the oil at 3k miles.
