Buy a BMW 135xi for $32K and then mod the crap out of it (3.0 Twin Turbo, AWD)... i bet it would give the GT-R a run for its money. Plus you'd have a bimmer, and not a nissan, lol.. nissan..

It has been raining here off and on for weeks now. My Jeep looks awful. Needs a bath so bad! However, mine has never and never will be as filthy as the one in that Ebay listing. Looks like it has been raped hard and put up wet! Why would anyone let one get that dirty (did you see under the fender wells)? And if yours was that dirty why in the heck wouldn't you at least run it through a car wash at very bare minimum before putting it on Ebay for 80 large? I guess I just don't understand.

and no warranty, an inferior awd system, and the joy of dealing with a finicky highly modded vehicle

sounds like fun

Save the canned chatter Dave, we've been down this road before.

Speed doesn't impress me, go line up next to John Force on your best day, there's always someone faster. What does impresses me is the ratio of speed/$

Nissan can lick my balls... $87K??!! And how much more in markups, tax, destination, and dealer charges will it take before it busts over $100K. Six figures just so you can think that the ultaimte rice carriage makes you way cooler than the slightly higher-priced 911 turbo.

The whole point behind rice is cheap, reliable speed, using tuning and F/I in place of traditional cubes/fuel. How do you think rice got started... it was becuase poor ass broke people with japaneese econoboxes wanted to go fast too. It was a genre of speed born out of necessity, alternative technologies, and competing industries.. but mostly out of demographics.

The GT-R may be the new Holy Grail for Japan, but it strays far from the pedigree of cheap, efficient cars that are easily modifiable into light and fast street machines. The price makes all the difference. I think the general concensus is that people wont think you're a schmuck if they see you in the ultimate Japanabox, vice the 911 Carerra you would have bought otherwise. But japaneese or not, these uber-expensive jap cars will change rice as the way we know it... the GT-R will evolve into a status symbol among those who have enough cash to throw at a car that most people wont ever gross in a year. Rich daddies boys, old farts with midlife crisis, and coprorate dikheads alike will all get them, and there's no stopping it now.

rant over

What could a guy do to his GCsrt8 with an extra $40k? WTF. For starter's the wheels wouldnt look like they came from Wal Mart.
