Good deal Street WK.:) Just a couple of questions if you don’t mind. Since everyone rates their HID color and temp differently, do you have any pics with different temp bulbs for comparison? Also, who makes the ballasts, bulbs, and how are the bulbs’ bases modified to fit our sockets? Thanks.

I thought I read somewhere that the HID lights were not a direct plug and use for our trucks. Any idea if this is true? They look really nice on your truck, and I am itching to get a set for my ride.

Are both Hi's and Lo's included?

What is the maximum wattage I can install without incurring melting / damage?

Do you have a bulb that will fit our fog lamps?

Also, please PM with payment methods and address.

Hey,

I've been doin some reading on these kits and does yours have relays that come with it? Other threads have said that without the relays the bulbs burn out fast. I would like to go in on this order, but can you give more details on the exact parts the kit comes with?

Thanks

This kit is just for the lo's. I don't know many kits that include both for this low price, honestly. Plus once you have HIDs you won't need your high's :)

I do not have the kit for the foglights. Sorry :(

I've had them for awhile and have had no problems. The pictures I've posted, well that guy has had them for over a year with no problems.

There will be no problem with melting the wires. HIDs run at a lower temp than stock halogens.

There is no relation between relays and bulbs burning out faster. There is honestly no need for them.

For an extra $7 I can include 2 relays, 2 relay holders, 2 fuses, 2 fuse holders, but no wiring though. Maybe that will give you more piece of mind. I am too busy with school and work to wire them up or I would do it, but I can include all the supplies.

Max power/lumens for our SRT8? I do not want to melt the housing...

I don't know honestly. All I do know is that HIDs do not put off the heat that stock halogens do. Therefore, HIDs will not melt the housing.

Stock headlights (lo's) are 55 watts and HIDs run a lot cooler.

I know you don't know me from Adam, but I wouldn't run this product in my Jeep (seen below, in sig) if it would cause harm. That wouldn't make sense.

Do the 12K run @ 35W??

Street WK
10-09-2006, 03:59 PM
Acutally I am not sure. I edited the post about yours.

HIDs run cooler than stock halogens, so no worries of melting the housing.

I honestly wouldn't want to sell you 12000k HIDs. I do not recommend them, unless you are purely going for "looks" over actually being able to see.

I would recommend to anyone who buys this kit to make sure you get a couple of wiring harness's with a relay and make sure it's got a fuse. Yes there are some kits which might work without, but for Our Vehicle I definately recommend getting it. You can find them on Ebay or anywhere on the net probably for around $15-25 (1 Relay/Wiring Harness). Buyer Beware as Always.

I said I can supply these relays and all to be extra safe for $7.

Nice price on the HID's to fully answer some questions:

HID's always run cooler and will not melt any housing that was designed for a standard bulb.

The lower the color temperature (eg 6000k) the higher the light output(lumens), I think 12,000k put out less than 60% of what a 6000k will. 6000k is what I have used in 4 vehicles, very very nice and bright color.

When installing in a GC you MUST use relay's becaues the ECU sends a "sense" voltage to the bulbs even with the lights off...this will cause the HID's to flicker occasionally when off and can:
1. Run down your battery (I still don't understand it, but it has happened to multiple people)
2. Cook the ballasts since they are not getting as much forward current as they would like and it will greatly reduce their life.

I have posted elsewhere in this forum about how to wire them properly in a GC....his price of $7 for the relay's sockets and fuse holders is excellent, way way less than I paid via EBAY and NAPA.

I just got an 07 SRT-8, and I was wondering if you can install HIDs (xenon) lights without affecting the smartbeam technology. thanks for the help

how much would it be for both hi and low kits because im mostly a night driver and need the hi-beams around my area especially when people pisses me off when they drive to slow

Street WK
10-19-2006, 07:33 AM
$400 shipped, but you wouldn't need the Hi's. I don't think people understand how bright HID's are. You won't need the Hi's once you have HIDs. Plus, it is not recommend on aftermarket HID kits to flash them. They take a second to heat up, so flashing them would be pointless.

These kits are no longer for sale, since forum members do not know what they are getting into. Please do research before you buy a procduct you know nothing about.

We can't do research when all of the information you gave is very vague.

Street WK
10-24-2006, 09:49 AM
No. Research on the product itself.

Like if I was selling exhaust systems before you buy the exhaust you should know exactly where it goes.

Also, if I was so vague why would you even buy a kit until all your questions were answered?

Thought that several posts ago you said you were done. So why do you keep responding? Oops, don't answer that, you're done remember.

The truth hurts, huh? Jeez, some here even pointed out until this you were very well received and still welcome. You are taking this way too personally.

As well as Business 101, you might want to look into a few other classes such as...
Communication 101
How to handle criticism 101
Self help to deal with my hostility 101
Why the use of cusswords shows lack of vocabulary 101
How not to handle a customer concern 101 (even if you are NOT A BUSINESS)

Hopefully you will "profit" from the various responses herein and gain a little maturity. Maybe not. And, since I am sure that I will fall into the @sshole category, these are my last thoughts, and I assure you, I am done.

Good luck to you.

You know ge2...it is really kind of a shame too. Sounds like his non venture into running a non existent business, or any further attempts on this site to offer up anything else "for sale" have also gone down the pooper.

The guy did have some good posts and was at one point making an effort to provide us all with something. None of this had to happen, and I find it difficult to understand how he could not see he was going into a total freefall with not much chance of recovery.

I would hope he would reread some of his responses, take a little bit of an attitude adjustment, and chalk it up to a learning experience. But who knows...In some ways I actually feel sorry for the guy, but yet we are all responsible for our own actions. Later.
