Alright;

Just got off the highway...ran about 130miles all together at anywhere from 80-100 just crusing. I wanted to play a little so when i got a clear shot I jumped on it and got to 140mph.....I got there from 100 and once I hit 140 I backed down to 100 immediately. It ran smooth as hell up to that point but then it started rumbling when I would step on the gas pedal and vibrating....it never got over 230dgs temp so i dont know what the hell is wrong with it. i let it sit for about 20min and it still continued to make the noise when i hit the gas hard even at a low speed.... it sounds like its comin from the rear end but it also sounds like its coming from the front. I had an oil change about 1500miles ago and everything has kept up. Any ideas whats going on?? Thanks. It sounds like something is rubbing could it be the brakes have just heated up and need to cool down?

Remove the tune and take it to the stealer.

yeahp, that's what im doin. there isn't any kind of special hidden factory setting to cause the vehicle to run like crap once u hit a certain speed, like 140mph, to make u bring it in so they know u had it running that fast is there? it fealt like it went into a different kind of gear once I hit that speed....I didn't redline at all but it fealt like it was stuck in a weird gear so I down shifted to 5th and then put it back into auto by holding the shifter to the right till it showed drive. fealt like I was in a different gear once I hit that speed though

I've heard before about a dealer trying to deny warranty because of "race use" but i doubt most dealers are that low.

alright; I reset my tune to factory and still having the problem so Im taking it in to the dealer asap. If you have ever went off the road onto the emergency shoulder on the hwy thats exactly what it sounds and feels like when it starts acting up. I ran a diagnostic before I reset my tune and there were no error codes past or present. It doesnt do it at all times just when I put a little gas into it or when I hit 80+ on the way back this a/m. I kept it at 70mph on cruise control and every now and then I would here and feel it growl/rub. It feels like something is rubbing almost like when your brakes are completely worn down to nothing and you try to stop...its weird. My vehicles still under warranty and Ive done nothing to it except the predator so everything should be covered I just dont know how big of an issue its going to be. I'll post what the mechs say about it whenever they can look at it...hopefully tomorrow am. It still shifts through the gears smooth, no excessive heat or high oil pressure and the engine itself sounds fine when its in park and you rev the engine up so its got to be something between the rear end and the engine. It feels like Ive lost torque also when I was giving it a little gas trying to figure out when and why it was doing what it did....just didnt seem to be all there. Any other advice is appreciated. Thanks!

You sure the dealer will not know that there was ever a tune on it? They just may. I know for sure that BMW they can tell if you ever ran one. It does sound like the TC. There is nothing internal to set of when you hit 140....but why are you running 140+ MPH?

What version of the Diablo tune are you running? I know that Diablo fixed in version r19. If your version is below that, I think you can send Mike your backup and he can add some code to fix.

I avoid the dealer at all costs.

No the Jeep will accelerate to the 170 MPH Limiter, there is no "special setting" to let Chrysler "know" how fast you went.

There is the ORS module "Black Box" freeze frame that initiates when the air bags deply (but you have to hit something first)

On the new 2009 models there will be a "Flash Counter" that will tell Chrysler beyond a shadow of a doubt that the PCM was flashed (the new truck PCM's have it already) and that will void your warrantee.

There is something to be said about the 2006-2008 model years, we do have the best right now.

^ thats not suprising - hopefully if they do enact that into their system than they will also make some drivetrain improvements. 3 years - they'll put more and more toys on the inside but no drivetrain improvements just excuses. Getting rid of the "hybrid mix n' match" diff would be a first.

why run 140+ mph? Why have a factory vehicle that will do it??? Cause you can, cause you can.lol As long as the damn thing doesnt break when you do it...ooops think mine did.lol As far as the version goes I just got the predator about a month ago and dl'ed the lastest software off the site so I should be running the newest tune but even when I took the tune off its still doing it.....about to go to the garage and see if theres any fluids pooling under the car

alright the verdict is in!!! I took the jeep in and had it fixed....it turned out to be the CV joint at the front of the axle. The transfer case was good; they said the drive shaft had basically twisted and turned to the point it was making the entire car shake. They fixed it for free and gave me a rental for free so I came out just find, I also asked Diablo about the possibility if there being a problem caused by the predator when it comes to the transfer case and their response was "its not the predator, its people running it in 2 wheel drive by taking off the traction control" so they urged me not to turn off the TC at any point. I was running the R19 tune but now Im running the R4.09 or something like that which is suppose to be the newest out and replaced the R20

Turning off TC doe not make it 2wd. However, I am glad you got to the bottom of the problem.

Looks my transfer case went out tonight.......loud grinding when turning.....2wd when launching hard.....does a burn out when traction control is off.......oh and not to mention both my front rotors are scored to hell and my mirrors with tilting option barely work anymore....

Now i prepare for a 3 week dealer visit....

Oh well i STILL love my 08 to death!!!

Have you checked your TC fluid level, mine was a quart low from the factory and it only holds 2 quarts. I wish we had proof whether these TC problems are related to the Diablo tuner or something else.
