Torque conveter upgrade - we rebuild the internals of the stock unit with a new pump and stator design. This allows a higher brake stall rpm (goes up from about 2000 rpm to about 2600 rpm). What does all that mean? It means when you hit the gas pedal the power from the motor goes to the tire at a higher rpm and thus applying more power. Seat of the pants feels very strong with just this mod. Our converter upgrade is offered on an exchange basis. GB cost is $975 plus shipping plus your cost to return the core. Allow 1-2 weeks depending on core availability. We ship COD and take paypal.
We should have some dragstrip test data soon along with some measured 0-60 mph times with our Stalker radar system (same system several auto magazines use).
If you were going to do just one mod to your Jeep SRT8 - this would be the one to have. You will feel it every time you hit the go pedal.

Excuse the ignorance, what is an exchange basis?

Exchange basis means you will be exchanging your existing stock converter for the new improved one. John can correct me if i'm wrong, but usually this means; you'll order the converter from Hennessy, receive it, have it installed by removing your stock one, and then ship the stock one back the Hennessy so that they may use it as a rebuild for the next car. This is to save time by avoiding the process of you taking out your existing converter, sending it to Hennessy, waiting for them to rebuild it and then send it back to you. Thats just a lot more down time most people just don't want to do. This also keeps the price lower because your giving him a converter back to use on next client. Instead of Hennessy buying a bunch of converters and waiting for them to come in, then rebuild them. This keeps atleast one available each time a rebuilded on goes out. Also known as a core exchange, it keeps an ever circulating inventory and turn-over. Hope this helps.

No way Jose - you need a pro mechanic with a lift and all the right tools to remove a lot of stuff to get it in and out: driveshaft, front exhaust system and transmission. It takes about 6 hrs to do the job.

thanks for the update, there is no way I will be doing this upgrade. Too much trouble and expense. I like the upgrades I can do myself.:)

I don't know anything about your aforementioned post but I have worked with John in the past with my SRT-10 and everything was great. He did everything that he said he would do - when he said he would do it. Can't ask for much more than that! :)
