I am looking for an aluminum or chrome differential cover for the rear. Anyone know where I could find one (strictly for appearance).

I bought one from Summit for $99 + $10 BS&Handling. Deeply finned aluminum, well made. I have not installed it yet. Will post pix when done.

Did you get the alum one # 730502 for the Dana 44? I am thining of this one. Hopefully alum/finned will help dissipate some of the heat generated while towing.

What is the advantage of the Girdle Cover? I'm new to this RWD axle thing, so I don't see the advantage to just changing a cover. Is it purely cosmetic? DTS is right down the road from me, so it would be rather ewasy to swing by and have them change it if there is any advantage to it.

The Jeep comes with a dull black painted stamped sheetmetal diff cover. A cast, polished, finned, bright aluminum cover just looks better. Kind of like 20", forged, polished, clearcoated wheels look better than black, 15" steel wheels with "dog dish" hubcaps. :D

My bad, the sig pic is of my Dana60 on my '70 Charger. That cast cover does serve a structural purpose helping make the rearend stronger. If they make a gurdle style for the 44 it would do the same.

They do. It's $140. I just wonder how/if that would affect the warranty in anyway if the rear end ever went...
