: Front Rotor Scoring

From those of you that are LX enthusiasts, you may know that the LX SRT8's have had a problem with front rotor scoring that was addressed by a TSB issued a few months ago. This TSB does not apply to WK vehicles.

Nonetheless, our GC seems to be starting on a rotor scoring binge with only about 1,800 miles on the clock. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Please advise.

I think all of us with the Grand Cherokee SRT8s are experiencing this problem. I know I am.

My rotors look like little minature models of the Grand Canyon.

I figure it is super secret SRT engineering that increases braking surface area. :-p

I'm just waiting got the TSB that requires the slotted and drilled rotors as a fix (like the one for the LXs).

The replacement rotors for the LX are slotted, but not drilled.

Not drilled? Hell, whats the point, then? Mire are already slotted - in nice, circular rings all the way around. ;)

After how many miles is everyone experiencing this? I have 5200 miles and have not had any issues like this yet.

I did not have any scoring on mine when I swapped out at about 5-6000 miles.

I've got about 3000 and mine is starting already. I just love it when I pull in to park and my brakes squeal at everyone around.
