So, Sunday I took my roommate to Manchester, NH to pick up his 350Z that had a new turbo put in over the winter. He has been here a couple of times, so took us straight to the Econo Lodge that he always stays at...$75 a nite! When we get close he tells me it is in the dodgey part of town, but cheapest hotel around...okay! We pull up and it looks like a factory, not an Econo Lodge. As I park I notice two very shady looking guys in a car next to us (this is around midnite), just scoping us out....okay, I really don't want to leave my Jeep here now, but again my roommate tells me everything will be fine. We get our bags out of the Jeep and start heading to the door as an unmarked police car pulls right up on us, flashes his lights and jumps out of his car with a hand on the holster!!! So, two more cop cars pull up and they run our liscenses...I gave him my Military ID at first, because all he asked for was ID, he gave it back right away and asked for my DL. So, there we are, standing outside in the cold for about 30 minutes as they do a thurough background check on both of us! they never bothered the two shady guys in the car next to us, so I am assuming they were undercovers. Apparently, the Econo Lodge is the highest drug traffick area in Manchester and it doesn't look good pulling up in a blacked out Jeep with California plates on!!! Guess I know never to go there again!!!!!!!

Hmm...It must have to do with tinted black vehicles. Similar thing happened one time in my buddy's custom black chevy dually that's all tinted.
We got pulled over for tint by 3 squads, cops on each side of the truck but we had a county sherriff in the truck with us since he was my buddy's roommate. The cops who pulled us over had him get out of the truck and wanted to make sure he was okay and that he really knew us.....:confused::D

Yeah, me and my roommate thought it was harrasment too...but I just went with the flow because I didn't want to cause any trouble!!!!

He kept asking me why I had Caly plates and DL.....even though I handed him my Military ID, I guess he didn't put two and two together! the original cop sat in his car while doing our check, while the other two stayed outside talking to each other, watching us. We were made to stand in front of their headlights, everybody that drove by just stared at us!!! They kept asking Jody (roommate) if he had scars or tattoos and such! It was interesting none the less!

Lesson learned, if you can afford a $40,000 jeep, spend the extra 20 bucks and go to the Holiday Inn, besides Matt, don't you know with your military ID you can get corporate rates anywhere!

I don't know, I think that would be cool to be seen on Cops, hahaha....as long as they were wrong and I wasn't getting into trouble!!!

I had the same thing happen on interstate 76 in Ohio when I was driving my white GMC Typhoon with the blacked out glass and Florida plates. I thought the officer was going to get a crink in his neck trying to see through the drivers side window into the back...only to see my six year old daughter in a car seat! I did get a "have a safe trip" for my troubles. LOL

Cops are like the rest of society-JEALOUS.
