I've been searching for an SRT8 for some time but I can't find what I am looking for in my area. Looking for a 2006 or 2007 Inferno Red (new).

Did you folks pickup your SRT's at your local dealerships or is there another good source for them? I'll have it shipped if necessary. Currently, I am in western PA. Thank you.

Where at in Western PA? I'm in Pittsburgh. I waited for my dealer to get theirs in, rather than fight to get one shipped in or traded for. Back in March, I was told you really couldn't get one traded to your dealer bc/ the dealers that had them were holding onto them to make the mark up but that problem should be over with. You can always contact local dealers and see if they have one coming in or even order it to spec.

If you are set on Inferno, you'll have to get an '06.

Omegaman - I'm in Butler just north of you.

DRIHEAT - Are they not offering Inferno Red for 2007?

Thanks - Brian

I'm in Cranberry. I got mine from Cranberry Chrylser Jeep. The General Manager is an ass. I'll never buy from that place again.

About Inferno Red - they changed the shade of red for 07. I can't remember the name (who will be the first to shame me???) of the shade - its not getting good reviews from those that have seen it.

Cranberry is awful, I bought my '99GCLtd from them used & got it home(over 4hrs away) only to findout that the QT2 transfercase was empty!!! The clutches were toast of coarse & they did nothing to help...

The new red is RedRock.

Sounds about right. If they weren't 2 minutes from my house, I wouldn't have bought from there. Their new GM (Jobi or Jobee or JoeBee - I was in a fit of rage when he introduced himself) is the owner's son-in-law (or so he told me). He's a tool.

I know. I'm ashamed of myself for many, many reasons, including this one. There's a group of people who'd like to see me stoned in the public square. Care to join? There's a sign up sheet at the local post office? :D

In Western PA, I bought mine at Monroeville Jeep...probably would not deal with them if it were not for Employee Pricing. All I had to listen to the whole time was how they were losing $10K, because they were charging $5K over sticker until EP was announced, then they had to sell it for $5K under sticker.

If you are looking for the new red (Red Rock), South Hills Jeep in McMurray, PA has one sitting on their lot right now. I stopped by to see it after they closed on Saturday night (around 8PM) just to see what equipment was on it, and the idiots left it open (but that's another story...). IMO, the Red Rock is a much better looking color than Inferno (but that's why mine is black)...especially when you see it in person. But apparently I am in the minority...

Thanks for the replies so far. I'm going to check out the Red Rock color in McMurray. There is a Red Rock one on e-bay but I'm sure you can't tell by the pic.

Just an FYI...the one in McMurray has the SRT Option Group I, the Nav radio with the backup camera and the sunroof. It appears that, other than the engine block heater, the only thing it does not have on it is the rear seat entertainment system.

Brian SRT - go to the Jeep website and do an inventory search of dealers. I did this back in August to find the Inferno Red color. I was able to check if they had one and the sticker of the vehicle. I know there was a dealer near Philly that had 3 - 06 Inferno Red, not sure if they still have them
Good Luck in your search

The problem with that is that most of these dealers don't keep their websites up to date. The Red Rock SRT that I mentioned in my earlier post STILL does not show up on South Hills Jeep's website, and they have had it in inventory for over a week. My Dad lives in Eastern PA and he was thinking about buying an SRT8 as well, and a dealer near him has a Red Rock in stock that is still not on their website. By the time the dealers get around to posting these things on their inventory list, they're gone already...

Well, maybe they are just not getting the 07's posted as fast. When I did my search back in August during EP, every dealer I sent for a price quote that had the Inferno Red, still had them on the lot. If the system was up to date, it's a great way to find what you are looking for with-out the hassles of traveling or making calls.

That's funny because, when I bought mine in August, I had exactly the opposite problem...the dealers in Western PA that I was contacting kept them up on the website long after they didn't have them on the lot anymore (one dealer in particular). Luckily, one dealer's site showed that they had two in stock, and, when I called, they still had one of the two. Based on my searches at the time, I'm pretty sure I got the last one on anyone's lot in Western PA during EP.

But that does bring up another interesting point...does anyone else think that Jeep's inventory search is kind of lame??? I traded a GMC Yukon Denali on my SRT, and my wife drives a GMC Envoy, and when I was looking for both of those vehicles, I could just go on GMC's website and type in "Yukon Denali" or "Envoy" and it would show me all the dealers in the area that had them on their lots. Wouldn't it be a lot nicer if we could go to Jeep's website and, instead of doing a dealer search in our area and then checking every dealer's inventory to see if they have an SRT8 in stock, we could just type in SRT8 and have a list of every SRT8 in our area??? I don't know...maybe I'm just lazy or maybe Jeep figures if I'm looking for an Overland and I see a similarly equipped Limited in stock, I might change my mind...but if I'm looking for an SRT8, I really don't want to see everyone's inventory of Laredoes and Limiteds.

Well, thanks for all of your posts and input. I visited the South Hills Jeep dealer and looked at the 07 Red Rock SRT and left. IMO, I like the Inferno Red SO much better.

Anyway, I could not locate a new 06 Inferno Red in Western PA that didn't already have hundreds of miles on it. A dealer aquantince of mine searched and there wasn't an 06 Red within a 150 mile radius of Pittsburgh. SO, I looked a little further out and found one in Michgan. I called the dealer and made arrangements. My wife and I drove 9 hours round trip to pick it up. It might sound crazy, but it was well worth it.

Man, I love this thing. It is an absolutely incredible vehicle and worth every cent we paid for it. I'm now in the club and thanks again for all of your help.
