: Black Jeep with roof rails and side running boards
Str8Srt8 09-28-2006, 07:47 PM I pretty much have everthing I could get for this from Jeep/Mopar. I really the side running board steps as they fit right in. I still have the original pieces, so I can always go back if I decide to. The roof rails don't make any noise unless you put the utility bars on them. I got the running boards to keep people off my leather!
It looks good. I think the running boards would look better painted body color. IMO. :)
Street WK 09-28-2006, 08:05 PM Looks really good. Where did you get them?
Str8Srt8 09-28-2006, 08:18 PM I got them at a Jeep dealership who also installed them. There's a little sound proofing material I lost with the original parts and the sound is a little different too because of them.
Street WK 09-28-2006, 09:43 PM Can you get more pictures please?
DCXRJE 09-29-2006, 06:24 AM I don't like them, but that is what makes it your SRT8. Go for it!
Steel Blue 07 09-29-2006, 11:12 AM Lookin good!
El Jefe 09-29-2006, 12:38 PM I think it makes it look too much like a regular GC...you gotta do something about that telephone pole for an antenna haha

The Roof Rack really takes away from the sleak design of the SRT8 Design.
12SECUV 09-29-2006, 04:05 PM Boards need to be the same color as the rest of the ride. I might vote "yes" then...Personally still debating the rails but the chrome Overland versions are top of my list if I do that mod.
akatheproducer 09-29-2006, 04:13 PM Wtf Not For Me !!!
idealrides 09-29-2006, 04:32 PM do you have the part numbers for the running boards? what was the approximate price for them?

srt8suv 09-29-2006, 05:11 PM I like the roof rails man. they are cool.
What is the part number of it, I want to order one :)
I like the tail lights guard, where did you get it from ?
Str8Srt8 09-29-2006, 07:28 PM I got all of my mods at a Jeep dealership, the light guards, the rails and the runners. I'll have to inquire about the part numbers as I'm not sure where they are at on my service receipt, but I'm looking into it.
The runners in the pics are as is, but I'm having them treated and they will look closer to the color. I'll also look into painting them to match perfectly and let you know what I find out on that one.
The roof rails will come off, back to the stock look just as the original side skirts will go back on. I figure it's about an hour of work on the skirts and less for the rails.
Logan 09-30-2006, 11:42 AM Ugh, Yuck.
synoil 12-28-2006, 05:24 PM I am considering the chrome oval runners with black inserts
I saw on a new MDX. Anyone know who makes these?
Splash guards are also a possibility. The Chrome accents
on my black SRT8 would look good with the chrome runner.
Mine is a daily driver 365 day/year so these will add some
more practibility. Do I have to take the lower side fascia
off to install the running boards?

Str8Srt8 12-28-2006, 07:23 PM That would be one custom job to get chrome bar runners in place. You have to remove the side piece, but I don't think it would look that good once removed unless it was almost seamless again, and I don't think you can do that without having some custom body work done.
jms935 12-28-2006, 08:27 PM Hey, now it looks like a regular Grand Cherokee with SRT8 wheels and front bumper. Less is more!!!
OurZoo 12-28-2006, 09:24 PM Is this what happens when you breathe all that fresh air up there? Hell, as long as you are happy that's what counts. Defnitely color match them, IMO.
SRT-8RAT 12-29-2006, 10:49 AM I feel the jeep is so low that you will never use them. IMO
