49K out the door. No deal at all really. I special ordered it, so it was the first '07 they've gotten in. The window sticker says it was specially built for me!!! (it has my name on it) The factory even put a "sold" label on the windshield.

I recommend you add the engine heater. The Texas winters can be very unforgiving ;)

Congratulations on the purchase. Every single mile in this vehicle is enjoyable, but the first 1000 are special. Have a great time!

Yeah, I'm such a wuss when it comes to cold weather, I have a jacket on this morning in the hangar! Perhaps I've made a mistake by not ordering the engine heater!!!!:p

Hey BLU when did you order your GC. I ordered mine in May of this year and it was scheduled for production the first week of September. They are telling me it won't arrive until November, so you know I am severely upset! Where did you pick your 07 up at, and how long did it take for you to pick it up?

Hey kmann when did you order? How did you just miss the plant shutdown?

Fly,

I ordered back in June. A week or 2 before the shutdown it was in D1 status and no one on this board was quite sure if D1 status vehicules were affected or not. Apparently not, which is why I'm picking it up in a couple of hours!

I'm surprised yours is taking so long considering you ordered it in May.

I'm in the Dallas area. I ordered mine on July 13th. It arrived at the Dealer 2 days ago, and I pick it up tonight.

I feel your pain, I ordered my '06 on Dec 12 2005 and got it July 8 2006.
Worst wait ever, I drove my wife crazy talking about it!:D

Mine was ordered July 10th 12:04 and it is still not here in Chicago.

TXBLU: What was your VIN last 4 digits?

****
Question for anyone that knows. When the VIN is assigned does this also tell you your order? For expamle. Lets just say the last three digits for 2 cars are 100 and 101. Is the 100 built first or does the VIN really have nothing to do with it and is more by the dealers ranking with Jeep?

VIN order has nothing to do with build order, they vary all over the place. Vehicles built the same day can have numbers that are thousands of digits apart and then at times batches will run in sequences. "100" could be a Laredo and "101" an SRT followed by a "102" Commander.

There are a several reasons VIN's cannot or are not always run in order. Once a VIN is assigned there are factors that may come in to play that affect when the vehicle will actually be built. Parts for example that may be on back-order may affect certain builds but not others, so the ones with b/o parts are run later. Another reason is that a dealer may be assigned a VIN but may or may not receive the vehicle in a timely manner due to allocations.

The date a vehicle is ordered also has nothing to do with the order in which you will receive it. 50 people in 50 states could order an SRT on the same exact day, and those 50 people would be receiving their vehicles at varying times anywhere between 6 weeks and 6 months for example. Dealer allocation plays heavily here, and many dealers will take deposits for vehicles without any idea IF and when they can even get the vehicle. Along the way you will hear all kinds of "reasons" as to why the vehicle has not arrived. But there are good dealers out there too, ones that keep in regular contact with their customers and that provide regualr and honest status updates.

"BG – order has passed edit but cannot be considered for scheduling". If it is a recent order it may have something to do with the plant being down. Regardless, it's very early on in the overall process as it is "unscheduled".

I'll be picking it up tomorrow night. It's black with every factory option except the engine heater. Life is good!!!! I picked mine up the same day you did. Friday took the beast up to the Grand Canyon and not using the cruise control with varing speeds averaged 18mpg. Thought that was pretty good right out of the box. The question I have for you is does your nav. have a 'mute' button or is now a 'time' button. If it is a time button, I don't know why as the book says it is for mutting?

YOWZA! 49K? + TAX? + DELIVERY? Ouch!

I paid 39K with empl. pricing, ALL OPTIONS on my 06. Retail was 45. The only diff betw. 06 and 07 is the Kicker system option, which isn't that great anyway. I'm replacing my speakers and the NAVI, which are toal crap. The Boston Acoustic speakers are paper - sound awful.

In either case, congrats. Great ride.

Oh, that's better then. Did you get the Kicker system? At least it would save you from changing the paper speakers, as Kicker is poly-composite, with a sub (too bad not 2 subs).

Kicker system is not available yet. Won't be until late year production (if at all ;) )

The 07's come with the same Boston Acoustics system as in the 06's.

I am paying 44 even for my 07, which I dont think is bad.

Question though, if my 07 SRT8 was ordered on June 14, and is still scheduled to ship on oct 8, does this mean I should have no delays?

I don't think it does anything to the cars elect. system. All it does is heat the engine oil.

to Jeep SRT8 07 owners which of this specs are true? pulled this out from WKJeeps.com

6.1L Hemi, WA580 AutoStick transmission (same drivetrain as 2006)
Active turn signals (“3-blink lane change”)
Audio - Next gen premium Kicker surround audio system w/subwoofer (late availability)
Boston Acoustics speaker badges
Dual chamber taillights
Front and rear fascia inserts now body color instead of black
Fuel tank size increased from 20.5 to 21.1
ParkView Rear camera system option (packaged with REC nav radio)
Remote Start (included with SRT Option Package I)
Side air bags (now standard on all models)
Tip Start (prevents double starts, touch n' let go)

Can anybody also confirm if the dash is still hard plastic or is it the soft touch material? Thank you.

the only thing that I can confirm or deny is that the dash is the same exact crap we have on our '06's, I was in for service 2 wks ago and my dealer had a steel blue that just came in, I hopped in to check it out, and no change on the dash. . . really impressive boston acoustic badges on the door speakers though (hehe)

The only thing Ive found that looks soft touch at all is the new mirror switch. The window switches are different too, but those changes were actually made on late 06 models.

All that looks right to me.

Just to clarify, the tail lights now use 1 bulb per side for the running/brake/turn signal lights. I believe the '06s used 2 bulbs per side.
