: Who stole my 4 MPH in trap speed and added .5 sec in the 1/4?
SRT Great 09-27-2006, 07:55 PM Just got my NOV Road & Track in the mail and in the middle, tucked away in the middle was an article about sport SUVs. They drove the GC SRT8, TB SS, BMW X5, Porsche Cayenne S, Infiniti FX45, and Rover Supercharged. Could tell they loved the SRT-8, and guess which one was fastest? Anyways, they claimed 13.2 @ 104 in the 1/4. Either they used a G-tech or equivalent, or SRT gave them a loaded vehicle. I'd say driver could have been it, but how hard is mashing the gas at the light? The best I've done with CAI and B&B catback is 13.68@100. I want my damn 4 MPH back.......whose got it?:D
Our SRT8s are absolutely capable of those passes, you just need good weather and track conditions like any other vehicle.
Would you mind scanning the article and posting it? I am a subscriber but I wont be able to pick it up from where it's sent each month for another week or so.
radduc 09-28-2006, 08:17 AM I think the SRT team flashed it with that performance tune they have and won't share with us.I have yet to see a stock Jeep run any where near those times, and the weather was almost 0 humidity with the temp was around 68 I don't think it is possible
ive heard of stock jeeps running that low and even in one case a 13.1
pretty sure on this site the majority of owners are around 13.3s stock after correction
radduc 09-28-2006, 09:58 AM I would like to see a stock jeep run a 13.1 Don't believe it is possible.Would have to see it with my own eyes.
whipple1 09-28-2006, 03:19 PM I think I know where you left the 4mph,In the stock exhaust and stock cai.Maybe?

Maybe I'll run my exhaust and intake air thru a straw and gain about 20MPH:)
There was a guy at the track with a stock set up running just about the same times and traps as me, doubt the mods are killers.

Likewise, I have a CAI and cat-back, and a stocker was running the same times as me :(

you should be able to and if you can't just go to www.la.gg and upload them there and paste what's in the box titled "BBcode (most mainstream forums)"

JeepSRT 09-28-2006, 10:43 PM I don't get the hard ride comments, I think it rides pretty well considering the run flats and sport suspension, my wife does'nt even complain as much as these enthusiasts!
SRTJeep 09-29-2006, 06:34 AM I can tell you one place that can take away performance, coolant temperature. My adding 100 oct picked up my Jeep a lot, reducing detonation in hot cylinders and heads. I'll be testing this real soon. Gene
rides ok for me but im young
