Being in germany is good autobahn performance what I need.


So I trade in my 5 month old WH 5.7 Ltd. and bought the first official
WH export model SRT8 in Hamburg. I got it wednesday last week.

The all new 2006 Grand Cherokee SRT8 was released to the german market in
August 2006

Yes, it's standard here. Only the first press/tv test cars were without it.

Hey bahnblastr, really nice to be the first one in this great city.

I've been on the Autobahn first time last saturday. And hit 165mph (>265km/h) without any problems with only 350miles on it.

But there are enough rpms left, so it should go faster. Will try again this weekend.:) Maybe I can do some pics or vids again.

The license plates are done with photoshop to cover the no.

So it seems true that the export model got the new dash? I can see the stitching on the dash and it looks like "soft-touch" material. better than the cheap plastic hoods we seem to be getting in North America. why didn't they just do this for all of the GC SRT8s???? So much classier...

You're right, I like the dash a lot better, but I like the staggered rim & tire combination that we have.

power folding both
power mirror left or right

Doesn't seem right that the export model gets some of these nice touches that would have made the overall vehicle seem a little higher quality. Just a thought. If I can get by the Jeep dealer I will try and see how much they charge for the brake cover....

We gotta figure out a way to buy some of the export model parts. I want the dash hoods and door panels (love the nicer speaker grills!!!). What I really what to know about is the phone mount. Is that OE or aftermarket??? I can't find a VSM (vehicle specific mount - I check Pro-fit and the other major one I can't remember the name of right now) for mine and I'd like to add a cradle for charging and external antenna connection...I've found the cradle for my phone just not a nice mount for the Jeep.

The phone mount is aftermarket from ->fwd (http://www.funkwerkdabendorf.com/index.htm.en) model Audio 2000, with specific cradle for my sony ericsson w800i mobilphone.

The fwd stuff works perfectly with the REJ Navi.

They do that because they know that Europeans won't stand for that poor quality.That is one of the bigiest problem with American car manufactures.The build quality is ****.Take the new Corvette Z06 it will spank just about anything out there they spent alot of money on the motor,suspention,body,ect. But when you look at the interior it all plastic and looks like poop.You build a supercar but pay no attention to inside,I don't get it

You are spot on Radduc. Just look at the Crapstang GT 500 that these dudes are payine $20K OVER MSRP for! Its junky inside and still doesn't beat a REGULAR Vette, much less the ZO6. Freakin' Volkswagen has better interiors than our Jeep!

Mine is ok. I am nearly completely content with it's interior.

Not me,I hate it.I bought it for the performance.If the jeep was $5,000 more I would have still bought it and I think most everyone would as well.Just think what a nice interior we would have gotten for 5 G's.They can do a TON with that much $ I mean a swade headliner would cost them like 150.00
