I just bought a new 08 GC SRT8 in Canada....our roads are the greatest but I cant believe how bouncy the ride is...the back end seems to go like a yo-yo sometimes...anyone else's ride like this???

that's how it is. one thing you can do is make sure your tires aren't over-inflated (should be at 33 psi, check w/ a tool as the vehicle system lies sometimes.). another option is getting non-runflat tires. the stiff sidewall on the goodyear rsas does nothing to improve the ride quality.

Personally, I think it's perfect. i wouldn 't want it any less tight.

The ride and noise levels in my 2006 improved greatly once I got rid of the run-flats and put Michelin Latitudes on it. :D

Congrats and welcome!

Didn't you take a test drive before you purchased? Even on a smooth road it's a bit bouncy.

I don't think the ride is all that bad in them. Set the tire pressure as stated above at 33psi.

Yup - those tires = very firm/stiff ride.
Keep using those 420 ponies and you'll forget all about it -Congrats & enjoy!

Bouncy? Stiff yes, but bouncy?
This may not pertain to our jeeps but i do know that the caliber srts had bump stops put in from the factory for ground clearance when unloading off the trucks. Alot of dealers forgot to remove them and people would get bouncy rides until they were removed. I doubt this is the case with the Jeeps but i figured i would throw it out there anyways.

Anyone have any complaints about a spine jaring rear end on bumps that involve both the tires hitting the same bump at the same time (much like a whole lane speed bump)? I know it is a solid live axel, but it seems like it has absolutley no compression travel at all.

thats pretty much what mine is like...I find the bouncing is worse though not over bumps but if there are dips in the road it starts going up and down like a yo-yo

I'm in Ottawa and the winter has been especially bad with the road. Lots of potholes. And i feel every one of them. I just took it for the first service(5030km) and will make sure the tires are at 33lb. The computer says they're higher, but I'd rather trust a gauge.

But I didn't get this truck for the comfortable ride or the gas milage!!
If I wanted that, I'd have gotten the Lexus RX350 like the wife wanted.. lol

Her parents have the RX330. And she loves it.

But, she's not making the payments or paying to fill the tank, so her wants only go so far in this decision.

Unlike most others... :(

lol

ah.....
ok.

So is my jeep like a porsche, with a trunk under the hood?

That would make for some nice extra luggage space.
