: Those with Kooks, I have a question...
Tex_SRT8 02-27-2008, 05:21 PM So I've had mine on for a week now, and I noticed my mpg has dipped significantly.... from 13.5 - 14.0 to 9.0-9.5
Did everyone else experience the same thing? Will a tune get this corrected?

Are you sure your not just having some fun testing them out? I know everytime I do a major mod, my next tank is really bad.
CoOlSlY 02-27-2008, 05:35 PM Experiencing similar results here but it may be as mikec@ said ;)

oh I'm definitely having fun with them :D
I reset the mpg avg and have taken it easy over the last couple days, its sucking some serious gas!
good thing i have a civic for driving to work (35mpg)
12SECUV 02-27-2008, 06:19 PM I believe it will avg back out. Don't remember paying close attention when I first put them on but I'm staying around 13 and my SRT only comes out when it time to play. Had the Kooks for 8 months now.
promo718 02-27-2008, 06:47 PM i haven't noticed any difference
Jeep Trick 02-27-2008, 06:50 PM I seriously doubt that header will reduce mpg, to the contrary it should improve
How you use the header is a whole different matter :D
I'm too busy enjoying the Jeep to pay attention to the mpg
1BAMFR 02-27-2008, 07:32 PM Stop flooring it and you may see some MPG gains
veyronSRT8@TTCreations 02-27-2008, 07:59 PM get a B&G tune, it helps pick that up a bit, brought mine back to around 13.5 on the freeway, but since i mainly drive in the city i usually get around 11.5 if that.
luvr 6.1 02-27-2008, 08:39 PM I drove 3.5 hours to a race event in Ohio and averaged 17.8 mpg with the AC on going over and back. 13-14 around town is the norm now and was the norm prior to the headers. A little better now on the highway though.
SRT8ITWHOLE 02-27-2008, 10:16 PM Remember, its SMILES per gallon that counts, that's why you bought the Jeep in the first place. If you want to be earth friendly ride a motorcycle to work.

( )-( )
JTSRT 02-28-2008, 07:27 AM I put kooks headers on the same time as $10,000 of other mods - HHP stage II, etc. I get 'about' the same MPG around town and on the highway...Driving habits like everyone says is probably the culprit.
Good luck
