I have already installed new instrument panel and front door speakers (see other threads). This weekend it was new CDT Audio ES620 component speakers for the rear doors.

I decided to put the tweeters in the recess for the cargo cover (I do not use it and it was a 7lbs diet on the plus side). I used a longer screw to mount them, but used the hole that was already there.

The system has good imaging with the front and (now) rear tweeters. I wish this component system was a little more efficient as I had to adjust the fader quite a bit to the rears. Overall, the system sound is excellent and a big improvement in accuracy. Now, all I have left is the sub for which I will post pictures when complete.

Here are the pics.

That comparison picture is my wake-up call to upgrade my audio system. I also am impressed with the mounting of the rear tweeters; nice choice of location. I cannot wait to see the sub!

Yes, I am on a path to see how far you can get by just upgrading the speakers and adding a sub.

Coaxials would have been a whole lot easier to install. I had to tap the amp speaker outs for the rear doors to run the crossovers for the components.

does that mean you can't use the cargo cover? I just mounted mine in the doors....

was going to flush mount but got scared when I saw how big the hole was going to be. and no factory amps for me 450/4 running separates and 1000/1 running subs. the factory stereos in these things suck.

edit: I have sense panted the housing grey to match the interior.

I like the cargo cover it hides the sub box from the outside world.
