Went and picked up an new Inferno Red '06 at Henderson Jeep in Baton Rouge. Great folks with a home town style dealership. Gary George did the deal over the phone and am impressed with the efforts of Gary. Gary is Doc Patels boy and is worth the drive to meet with. Got to Baton Rouge at 2am, saw the truck and went to the local hoe'tel for a little sleep. This puppy is hard loaded with a MOPAR remote start added. Price is the best i came across since my search started...better than some of the used ones i see. The 350 mile drive home was nice and I played with the techno parts the whole way. 14MPG with a run speed of 80mph.
Some observations-
Most every one notices this thing. I thought it being a Jeep GC and all i would fly under radar. No such luck
Is there an exhaust valve on this thing? The noises it makes at low rpms is so sweet and loud, but fade after mid range rpms.
Speaking of noise, I have a odd one underneath as i hard accelerate from a standstill...any ideas?
Damn it has so many toys to adjust, push, play with and learn. One is the traction control-I tried to "drift" this thing in a newly wet slow speed corner that was beading up oil. It slid a bit, then the auto pilot kicked and and saved the day.
Original HEMI Orange paint on the block...nice touch
Need to start a savings account now to replace the tires when they need it...
Brembo-Need I say more?
110MPH is nothing in this thing...nor evedent. Even inna 65MPH zone.
FWIW, I followed the 3K mile break in convo here, and the dealership perpetuated that rule. Said all the ponies would show up to the party 3K miles later...
Oh-And this is the wifeys driver. She said somthin about goin Stang hunting...I dunno what she means, but figure it has to do with Ford not selleing her a 07 Shelby for sticker. :D
