slither 02-01-2008, 08:43 PM Hey all,
Been lurking for a little while, with advice from what I've read on this forum I pulled the trigger and bought a loaded black '08 from Don today, should be delivered by next weekend. I'm thinking about doing the Zeckhausen brake pads right off the bat to try and avoid the brake squeal/rotor scoring situation, any advice? Other brake pads recommended? Thanks in advance.
OurZoo 02-01-2008, 08:48 PM Welcome aboard. Personally I'd spend the cash on some other mods off the bat since you have brand new brakes. Just my 2 cents of course.
2BADGN 02-01-2008, 08:54 PM I agree. The brakes will be fine for a little while. Spend the money elsewhere first. CAI, Exhaust, T-Stat, Predator to name a few.
SRTLUVR 02-01-2008, 10:21 PM Welcome buddy! Yes, a great forum here! Watch out for Andrew, he likes boys......;)
Anyway. As far as first mods go, I did the Zeckhausen pads as well. I CANNOT STAND THE DUST FROM THE FACTORY PADS!!!!! But......the stopping power has waaaaay less bite from the stock pads. I mean a lot of people can't stand the "soft" pedal that the Zeck pads give. But for me, it was worth the trade off! Just warning you the pads have less bite. However you won't have to wipe your wheels down every 20 miles!!!! :) A lot of the guys on here like the Satisfied pads.
But if you can deal with brake dust, I agree with the fellas. Do something else first!!!!! The mods they listed are waaaaay more fun, and yield more tangible results. Again, welcome to the forum, and post pics as soon as you get your girl. :)

gordy0079 02-02-2008, 02:31 PM Welcome to the forum. Lot of great advice from a lot of great people on this forum.
I have an 08 with 5,000 miles on it and I have had no brake noise of any kind yet. I personally went with the Bwoody CAI, Borla S exhaust, and 180 t-stat right off the bat. I have clocked under 4 seconds in 0-60 runs consistently and I ran a 12.7 in the quarter. Not bad for about $1300 in mods.
You will have a great time with your new toy. Enjoy

I'm keepin my eye on you...
slither 02-02-2008, 05:01 PM Thanks for the advice all. Guess I'll leave the brakes and see how they do - sounds good Matt, the bw cai, bw sway bar links and zex kit is looking good - ahhh help I'm addicted...
I want to live with the stock exhaust for a bit and see how it sounds, but I'm sure that won't last long. It's not going to be a daily driver so I wouldn't mind it a little loud but I don't want the "2-chamber flowmasters on a mustang" thump either (man I must be getting old - ha ha ha). Gordy how does the borla s sound when you're on it? Nice times for your mods too. 1bamfr I'm on the NW side of Houston but I grew up on the East Coast - go Pats! I'll post some pics when it gets here.

Who are you asking?
gordy0079 02-03-2008, 11:56 AM The Borla S sounds great from the outside. It has a bit of a drone on the inside but over all it is worth it. I am constantly getting compliments from people on the sound. I past someone yesterday and they pulled up next to me at the next light and asked me to stomp on it just so they could hear the exhaust again.
