Just wanted to say thanks to those here who mentioned the option. I had it configured today and now when I put in reverse my mirrors tilt down. Something I was doing manually now and then depending on my back up.

They hooked up a computer/scanner to the Jeep and changed the setting somewhere in seat configurations.

Highly recommended if you like to see the sides/road during backup.

Do both tilt or just the passenger side??? I've had passenger side tilt on a few vehicles now and I like the ones that you could turn it off with by putting the adjustment switch in the drivers position...this was very handy for the 50% of the time you need to really see behind you on the that side of the car while in reverse and not just the ground/curb/strip...

I haven't bothered trying yet, but isn't the down position of the mirror adjustable? Can anyone confirm this? I guess I can go try it at lunch...

You should be able to turn it on yourself from the EVIC. Hit menu and keep hitting it to go through all the options, hit step when you get to it and it will change that setting. Easy entry seats and tilt mirrors down in reverse can be turned on this way with the upscale EVIC, which IIRC all SRT8s came with.

I know some of the WKs have it and others dont, but we dont have any SRT8s in stock for me to look at right now. I will check the incoming one we have on order when it gets here, if it isnt held up by the plant shutdown.

Do I need to have memory button to be able to program the mirrors?
Thank you

Not sure what you mean.To get the mirrors to point down when in R you need to take it to the dealer. Then, when ever you put it in R the mirrors will tilt down

the memory button is yep, in the reverse mode. Then again in the drive mode.

The dealershop did this for me, I was elated as I was a sucker for doing it myself while backing up in garages.

Once you have it programmed from the dealership, it works just fine! I had no charge on mine!

Can someone tell me either what dealer did this for them, or the TSB number. My dealer has no knowledge on this whatsoever. They told me to get the TSB number and they should be able to do it.

Reverse tilt is not a TSB issue, but rather a function option.

It is enabled by your dealer via DRB programming. (oh yeah...you must have the memory feature in your vehicle for this to work)

Tell your dealer to do this:

1. Go to the FCM screen
2. Select "ECU details"
3. Select "More options"
4. Mirror TILT function is at the bottom of the list.

It is like a 5-10 minute job....some dlrs do it for free, some may charge. Hope this helps.

If anyone gets it done on an '07 with backup cam, please post. The cam does work well too though.

Can we have folded mirror on our SRT8s?

The U.K. spec mirrors fold, ( rotate the control knob so that the dot is facing backwards), I use the feature often in car parks !

It probably isn`t just a case of fitting the mirrorthough, as the wiring loom and switch are probably different. ??

Do what I did if you are the only one using the memory switches.I have mine set to button #1. I set my mirrors down where I want them and then set button #2.
Now when I want the mirrors looking down whether I'm going forward or reverse I just hit the #2 button and presto. When I'm ready to go on I hit button #1 and everything is back to normal.Real simple.

My memory switches don't work if the car is running (says something like "memory disabled" on the dash when I try to use when the car is on). They only work when the car is off so this wouldn't work for me. How did you get the to work when the car is running?

They work if the car is running if it's in Park and your seatbelt is unbuckled.

I know I've tried it with it in Park and no luck. I must have had my seatbelt on. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for all the help guys.Yes it works when your in Park and no seat belt.I think we are better off this way than having the mirrors tip every time we back up.I'm only concerned when I'm backing into a tight spot that has a curb that could hurt my nice wheels.Good Luck.
