Except not - it's between -40 and -50 with the windchill here in Edmonton today. You know it's REALLY cold when Celsius and Fahrenheit are the same.

Other than the obvious starting the car a few times throughout the day, anyone in equally crappy parts of the world have any clever winter tips?

I've got some friends in Austin and they mock me constantly. Same with my friends in Miami. Pretty much everyone who lives anywhere south of me mocks the temperature we deal with in Edmonton winters...

I envy you guys who can drive your beasts the way they're meant to be driven year round.

I thought I'd smell some SRT8 from upwind here in Minneapolis :p

So tell me, what do you guys do for celebration when Mr. Farenheit marries Ms. Celcius at -40?

Stuff my pants. And not just for warmth.

I wish I lived in a balmy Edmonton climate...

Just kidding, we aren't that different. I did find out the outside temp gauge maxes out at -48C last night though.

Few past years lived in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The same cold winters as in Canada. We had e few weeks in sequence with minus 30 Celcsius. Just had to wake up three times a night to go outside and warm up my cars.
By the way, Toyota's indash thermometers don't display temperatures below -30 C, just stay at -30 till temperature drops till -40, then display two dashes like this "- -". Jeep displays it correctly. (At least till -40).

Now moved to Almaty where is much wormer.
As far as performance is concerned never raced when was really cold

LOL, I thought you were from the west coast?? Here in Minneapolis I am reading -15. On the way home tonight (tried to get a pic from the DashHawk, but too dark) I had an IAT of -8. That's a pretty cold blast into the intake.. :D

had -13 this am...started up 35-40 minutes prior to driving.

I'd take -50 below windchill and a warm house before a Hurricane and no house any day IMO.
