I don't care that much about mpg but seriously considering srt and one thing that I'm having a time with is the cruising range. I often do long road trips which makles this a great vehicle in many ways but the gas tank? I need about 4-4 1/2hrs of driving time at a clip so figure 260-300 miles per tank w/o sucking every last drop out and dying on the highway. My guess is that b/c no 6th gear this could be a problem. Even my current s4 gets over 300 per tank highway with a 16 gallon tank.
experiences?
thnx much bc I would love to try this beast out saw a black one yesterday, beautiful.
btw, porsche has the interior by a mile but I think this and the x5 are the best looking SUV's out there.

just came back from fueling....
approx 18 gallons X 12-13 mpg equals about 200 miles per tank.....mostly city driving and some high speed highway spurts....
averaging 16 mpg on the highway(if possible) would put you in the 275 miles per tank range....

At 1150miles, mine is getting 12.7mpg and approx 250mile range. I'm sure after a few thousand more miles it will get better. Oh yeah that is 12.7 w/ 80% highway and going 80-90mph with lots of mild-mid uphill climbing. I think after break-in I will see about 13.5-14.5 which should give it a range of about 275-300miles max.
As for interior, if you had a Cayenne for an extended period of time you would realize that it is quite cheep and poorly situated. Even most reviews come to this conclusion. As for interior, I give the best quality to the Range Rover or MB G55. Everything is located where you would want it to be and everything has a quality feel to it. Porsche failed this department because they were too busy adding cheesy aesthetics to convince the owner who is sitting inside the Cayenne that it is in fact a Porsche and not a Touareg/Audi. Seriously, go get a loaner for a few weeks and you will understand. After that go get a loaner Touareg or Audi and drive that for a few weeks and you will really understand the similarities and the shortfalls between the two. You will also understand that the Cayenne is to a Touareg as Integra is to a Civic. One just has a few extra bells a whistles that are added on with little to no customization or ingenuity.
