So I finally decided to open the manual and look what it says on engine break in. The manual says a long break in is not required but you should drive moderately for the first 300 miles... After the initial 60 miles, speeds up to 50-55 are desirable with some some occasional full throttle accelerations while underway.

WOW, um, I've been nailing it hardddd off the line quite a bit and I still don't even have 300 miles on it... Do you think I just screwed myself? :(

Should I chill out a bit for the next hundred miles or so at least?

You're fine. There's been at least half a dozen guys that have practically driven off the lot and straight to the dragstrip with no issues that I've heard of.

Right on! I at least always waited until the engine was at operating temperature before I slammed the pedal down from a full stop...

I usually get a new car every 12-18 months and I only pampered one during break-in and it was the slowest car I ever owned..So now I break-em in like I stole it and I have had good results..meaning keep off rev limiter but dont be worried about wot...Although My 08 had 800 on the clock when I bought it...LOL some one beat me to it..

Beat that thing like it's a red-headed stepchild!!! Picked my '08 up 2 weeks ago and have been beating it ever since! I waited until it warmed up in the dealer's parking lot and then, with 6 miles on the odometer, I pulled away like a maniac with the pedal to the floor. The salesmen were just shaking their heads in disbelief and laughing.
I haven't gone over 130mph yet, but the 500 miles that are on it so far are hardcore. I agree, every new car I ever had ran so much better and faster with a hard break in period. DO NOT BABY these badboys!

Have you ran yours at the drag strip yet ? If so what did you turn in the 1/8 and 1/4 mile. I just want to see if yours ran any faster bone stock ( no mods at all )than most that baby theres the 1st 300-500 miles.
