It's too funny. I posted my "aha moment" that it has been almost two years now since being one of the first (east coast) proud and happy owner of my Beast. The other revelation that I am now getting is that NO ONE is challenging me anymore on the street. Don't get me wrong, I am not about to go and look for it. And, at my age I am probally smarter and a bit wiser than my racing days 25 years ago. But I live in a rice rocket community and you would think that some wise azz's might want to play. Could it be that they just know better?

our beast has been out for a while and I'm pretty sure people has been "educated" on what our rigs are capable of. More knowledge means more respect for our Beast!

Seems like the kids in Altimas and other ricers are still clueless, but the sports car afficionados are definitely more in the know.

I do run across many who have no idea what these beasts are. But usually, the gear heads of any type, be it import or domestic, are in the know. I've run across a few who don't want to run, but rather take a close look. Apparently, even though we're in the 3rd year model of production with these, mine is the only one many people around where I live have even seen. And I honestly love that. I hate having a run-of-the-mill ride that can be seen on every corner.

The ones I "find" always wanting to race are the Duramaxes. Maybe it's just my area. There are a couple of new diesel shops that have opened up loacally. These modded diesels will race anything, and they have something to prove. I had one that called me out in my 650hp Cobra. He lost. Don't get me wrong, some of them are fast. But, for the most part I've seen them turn a 16 second truck into a low 14 high 13 second truck and they think it's the fastest thing on earth. And then when you beat them the excuses start flying. "Well let's see you pull a 10,000 pound trailer with that, (insert sprots car here)." "Let's go race up (local 4 wheel drive trail) and see how you do then." It's rediculous.

That said, the only things I really worry about in my SRT8 are 03-04 Cobras and Evos. You're going to find the occasional modded Mustang or Camaro that will give you a run for your money or a Stage 3 SRT-4. There's just not a lot of 12 second, and faster, daily drivers out there.

there are still some people out there that need to polish up on their car knowledge. would be funny if they had a "know that car" tv show. lol. it surely seems some are catching up on the education (the gearheads), however there are still people out there that dont even have the slightest. some may know its a jeep but always assume it is some kinda aftermarket setup. lil do they know until they want a piece. man i cant wait for those new svt's to come out. by this time those caddy guys will for sure know about the jeeps, but what they wont know is that they wont have a chance running against me still. lol

I'd love to see our BEAST featured on the Speed Channel (cable ch 29 in my area - NY). Perhaps it was and I missed it 'cause I travel...it's like DJ (red barron) said, I like to the first "joe" and get the new models. The results are jaw dropping admirations and that gets my whole body pumped!! Knock on wood, I have rarely had issues with getting new (unproven) vehicles. Call me a risk taker, but it is ALWAYS worth it ESPECIALLY with our rigs!!
