Hi You'll,

I'll be honest, I LOVE everything about the GC SRT-8 except for the gas mileage!!! :( ... If I decide to go with an SRT-8, it will definitely be a 2008 model ... Could you all please do a quick check on your car and tell me what you are averaging as far as MPG? Please also specify what type of driving your particular MPG is based on ... Obviously, if you drive these things hard, you'll get a lower gas mileage! ... :p

Many Thanks in Advance!

I currently average about 14mpg with mixed highway/city driving. I am pretty easy on the go pedal, but I do like to lay into her at least once a day.

If you are worried about MPG, look at somthing else.

yeah if you are the least bit worried about gas mileage, dont even look at these cars.

in fact...the gas mileage is why i probably wont have this car more then another 10 months or so. im averaging about 13.8-14 mpg with city/highway and the occasional hard driving.

I average 13.6 MPG right now with normal driving, and getting on the gas about once a day recently. But ya, if you are worried abut gas mileage, you are definitely looking at the wrong car...I fill up every 3-4 days ;)

Im guessing you havent seen the thread about the top 10 cars with the worst milage. Like all the others have said, your looking at the wrong car if your worried about milage. Typically when you buy a sports car or performance SUV you will have to compermise somewhere.

13.7 mpg, first 15 miles of my commute is stop and go traffic, last 30 are highway speeds of 80 to 90 in Houston Traffic. but for the people who are in houston know that these speeds are only in short burst. I get on my car at every light. hahaha.

11,500 had it since 8/31

13 mixed, 16.5 hwy only. The $ spent on gas is so worth it. Honestly every time I get on it I can't help from smiling. Maybe I will have to buy some carbon credits from Al to offset the guilt.:D

cruise control at 70mph you will get high 16 - 17 mpg (my personal best so far). Change cruise control to 80+ and that drops a mpg. City driving i get around 11 mpg, so mixed together i get high 13's low 14's like everyone else has basically stated. It isn't good but its not as terrible. You just have to make sure financially you can spend the extra cash, and look at it as "entertainment" expenses!

1500 miles and i am averageing 13's all day - doesnt bother me that bad - last two vehicles were trucks that did no better than high 15's and one was a chevy 8.1 big block that was doing real good to see double digits - but that was when gas was CHEAP at 2.00 a gallon for Premium HA HA

I get about 25 mpg.

See, my wife and I ride together to work so she said I can double the gas mileage on everything we drive.

I also have a big block 4wd F250 that gets about 22. :D

I don't know what your other choices are, but a V8 Cayenne, any Tourag, any BMW X5... they all drink the stuff.

Buy it now while you can. The eco-weanies are going to have us all driving hybrid golf-carts in 5 years and we might never see the likes of 0-60 under 5 seconds, wet-or-dry, again.

Thanks for everyone's contribution to my question! :) ... That was very helpful! You see, I drive an Audi S4 an I have averaged 17 MPG over the past 3 years ... As you may know that car is a 4.2 V8! ... Like someone said in their response, the gas pricing is what is killing me! I would not even think about it if gas was $2 a gallon! But you all are right ... I have to do some major thinking at look at my finances to see if this would be the right car for me! I envy all of you who are loving this car ... I am sure you deserve it or you would not be driving one! This is one BAD ride! :)

Someone needs to make a bigger gas tank...say 30 gallon and then It would be OK. I know it has no bearing on mpg but it'll let me go a week on one tank..and would eliminate the gas guage from visually moving :)
