: That freakin' key fob (08)

I have an 08 and the key fob is pissing me off

First let me say it is now missing, I have the key but the fob is MIA

Am I the village idiot or is this design not at the top of its game????

First let me say that I have started it and opened the rear hatch from my pocket with no hands (unintentional)

Second I have had the fob come off the key ring several times and noticed it an put it back

Now the fob has disappeared off the key and I have no idea where it is as that day I was all over the place driving a different vehicle.

Shouldn't the whole unit be attached to the ring, preventing this from happening????

I want to argue this at the dealer for a replacement!!!

I mean if a part of the car fell off from factory that would be a design or build failure!!!!

I have the same thing happen to me all the time while I am in the office. But I love sitting at my desk and here a little suprise of my SRT8 starting:D, but I was upset when my co-worker came in a said your rear hatch is open and it's raining.

Ok, that's it, no more kegel exercising for you!

Uhh oh.... I wonder if some dirt or something may have gotten into the lock button on the fob and caused it to move enough to unlock. On mine it takes a pretty firm push of the lock button...

I would agree that a better/smarter design would be in order. But I doubt you will see a change as this is a one-model-year-only design.

I have not seen much out of Greg in quite some time. The least they could do is PM you with their rational behind editing. IMHO.

In my best Eddie Murphy voice, "It wasn't me".:D Granted the majority of the population here would not care, but the bottom line is it could have offended someone. Personally I would have changed it to fricken.

Would you care to clarify this for me? For one, you need to get your facts straight before making any accusations. Secondly this seems like an unwarranted personal attack at me which is against the rules.

I'm in a mood, F%*kin just said it best

Fricken maybe more polite and more politically correct but didn't capture the moment

I would love to see a movie like "The Departed" edited by the mods here

It's actually partially from a Pink Floid song, "you lips move, but I cannot hear what you are saying." Did I say that I don't like your hair cut or you have an overbite? NO! Those are personal attacks. There were two mods on when the post was modified. You and Greg. I have not seen much from Greg for quite some time so naturally I assumed it was you. Since you have made it clear it was not, I AM SORRY for getting your panties in a wad. Please don't kick me out. :mecry:

It was me... no biggy. Move on :)

If you wanted it to imply fricken... it might have been better to say 'fricken'. What was there implied something other than fricken, did it not?

No hard feelings, and I certainly didn't mean to tick you off with it. If we're men enough to swear, or imply it, we ought to be men enough to let 'cotton pickin' roll off our backs.

Sheesh.... drama :)

Greg, keep in mind that "cotton picken" does have racial implications with some people and is more offensive then just saying the fing word :D. Mods and admins, please at least have the courtesy to PM the individual you are modifying to let them know the "errors" of their ways. Thanks.

More offensive? To whom? Me? Not true. I certainly see your point, but a blanket statement can't be used saying that cotton pickin is a more offensive term. To some, certainly, but not to all-- that was my point in choosing that phrase.

A pm is warranted when actual threads are changed, or edited to a point that the meaning has been altered. I truly don't think a pm is necessary to clean up a thinly veiled swear word, but I'll give you my word that I'll send one in the future. That's fair.

We also edit thread titles for spelling and such to make the search engine more useful. I usually don't make it a general practice to PM people either.

The freakin' key fob design is stupid.

This frickin' thread ain't much better.

Keys should be mindless. I shouldn't have to worry about losing an expensive electronic gizmo due to a cheap plastic piece. Oh, and I started my Jeep while tightening the alternator belt on my truck. Glad i was at least in the garage!

We need some Disney icons on here... it's so "G" rated I can hardly speak. I'm all for decent, but I don't get how "Douche Bag" flew in a title a few weeks back by Fr&%*(^ing is bad.

Whatever... maybe I'm still a Ford driver at heart!
