: RPM limit at 3800??

I ran into a situation today that really puzzled me. I was going to install my Gtech Pro Competition in the GC and go out for some fun & facts. Now part of the setup procedure involves calibrating the Gtech to read the engine rpm correctly. After entering rpm calibration mode, it is necessary to rev the engine to 4000 rpm & push the "OK" button on the Gtech. I was only able to rev the engine to 3800 rpm!! Even with the pedal on the floor, the rpms would not go above 3800. WTF!! I tried it with the traction control both on & off....no difference. I tried it in park & neutral...still no luck. Anybody else experienced this problem. This feature would make an excellent launch assist on a manual transmission car, but I see absolutely NO reason to have it on an automatic transmission vehicle.:(

It's a built in safety, it has been mentioned in another thread somewhere around here

Thank Mercedes Benz for that one.All of my MB are that way.I don't think its an issue though, just prevents people from doing the famous netural drop:eek:

Man, I hope that's not the only reason. That's like saying that it is OK to do a 3800 rpm neutral drop.
