Of course LED's are better but with the electronic monitoring system in all these new jeeps, including the SRT of course, you'll need load equalizers for not only the direction signals but also the running lights and brake lights.

I think the only advantage to halogen is they're cheaper and easier to find replacements.

If nothing else we should all have LEDs in the brake lights, once you press the brake pedal LEDs turn-on almost instantaneously. I actually had the rear light on my Ducati replaced with an LED light, with a strobe function. As soon as I pull the brake lever the light blinks 3 times (within 0.5 second) then comes on steady. One of the best passive safety options you can have.
