how do you remove intake silencer??????

hey guys,

How do you remove the intake silencer from the bottom of the factory airbox?

I did the grill scoop mod, getting the whole grill out was easy, thanks for the
tip.

I want to run to Lowes and fab up something after I remove the silencer, but
hope I don't have to remove the box itself to do it????????

....got it. just take out the air filter, and you just puch the 3 little clips in.
The thing will pull out, or fall out from the bottom.

This thing is just begging to be messed with.

Its tight but you can get up there.......I had a three inch round tube running down but never connected it to the brake cooling scoop.

.....my thought is to run a tube from both brake ducts, b/c that is the way
I had it on my mighty Cobra (haha) worked great.

...and like others have said, unless I am going to be lapping Laguna Seca, how
are the "defunctionalized" brake cooling ducts going to hurt me in everyday
situations. the Brembos are huge and adequately ventilated. The ducts are
just cool, and Jeep/SRT might has well made the ducts to add to the SRT8
Jeep flavor. right?

With just the grill scoop mod, and the silencer gone, I swear I can tell
a slight performance increase. The truck really needs the revised hi-po flash
I am just having a hard time justifying $595+ for a freakin re-flash, that is
really taking advantage of us desperate perfomance junkies!

I am waiting for my guy who indicated to me that he may be able to tune
SRT8s in the near future. I told him, if he could, or SCT ot Diablo came out
with a good tuner to address our 3 main concerns. They would sell the hell
out of them. Who wouldn't buy them on here for $400 a pop?

Doing the 180* stat and attempting fan mod this Saturday for Sundays virgin
blasts down the 1/4. Gonna piss off some of my Stang buddies for sure.
It almost feels like it is going to be more fun blasting low 13s than the pressure
to run mid 10s in the Cobra. weird huh? (sorry to rattle on)
