CAI installation/battery question

is it absolutely necessary to disconnect the battery to install the dub air cold air intake? i would rather not have to reset every setting and electronic component in the car, and i am always very careful when i work on my car, so getting jolted is not a big fear of mine. any advice is appreciated

Re: CAI installation/battery question

No, It erases the adaptives and returns the PCM back to the base program. You can also pull the PCM battery feed fuse from the fuse box closet to the firewall, with the key in off position. I personally erase the adaptives when I make changes, that way I always have the same baseline to compare to.BTW, If the radio is off, even if you D/C the bat, the memories will remain.
