CAI sound

Hi i just had a quick question on the CAI on the jeep do the after market ones make it sound any diffrent or is there no change. I was just wondering because i had a airmax sprial air intake on my 5.7 litre hemi last year and it would almost sound like a turbo winding up do you guys recieve the same results?

The Volant has a distinct tone to it, but it's not like a turbo whine.

Re: CAI sound

The mopar cai has a throatier sound. It also whistles a bit during slow accelerations.

'06 Black All Options. Bought mine on 06/06/06.

Re: CAI sound

Check out this link. First dyno run was with stock intake but from the back. Second run was with the GSM cold air kit (Mopar sound is similar).

Re: CAI sound

Never have been a big fan of the sound. It sounds like my 78 grand prix with the air cleaner cover flipped upside down. not the way this 6.1 should sound IMHO.

Re: CAI sound

When I installed the DUB intake, it made a distinct difference in the sound AT WOT ONLY. Definitely louder.

- DUB Air Intake, Corsa exhaust, S/W 1 7/8 off-road headers, B&G Tune installed
2005 Black Sapphire Metallic Volvo S60 R
- Evolve exhaust, Bell intercooler

Agree - DUB is a very distinctive low pitch aggressive sound at WOT. Under normal driving, of course the sound is the same as stock.

Re: CAI sound

Installed a mopar c.a.i. and I could tell a difference. It sounds even better than stock
