Does anybody make shorty headers for the WK1, I don't plan on changing the cam, heads etc.., so its not worth the cost and low end power loss of installing full length headers.
I have a Corsa catback system & CI and the basic Diablo tune.

Sure this is a dumb question but since I'm getting quotes for a set...I gotta ask....what is the difference between the stock "shorty" headers with hi/flow cats and exhaust over long tube headers?
the stock manifolds are not headers by any means, they do not have the individual port tubes like headers, yes there are shorty headers available through True Street i believe, i know brian has a set, seen them in person. there is no off the shelf mid pipes for them though
and further more i would like to know who told you there is a power loss with long tube headers
I know the factory exhaust manifolds are not a true equal length shorty header, with a true equal length shorty header on a pretty much stock motor (no cam, head work, blower etc.) you will get better low-mid power gains over the stock headers. With full length headers on a stock motor you are going to lose low end torque, you will gain power on the high end.
Where most of your every day driving is in the low - mid range for most people, so cost / power wise it isn't worth going to a full length header on a stock motor.

"Graph B shows how longer tubes tend to increase power below peak torque while hurting power above peak torque. Shorter tubes tend to affect the engine in exactly the opposite way, hurting midrange torque in favor of increasing top-end power."
Thinking of dong a dyno comparison from my set up with stock manifolds connected to magna/hiflows x-pipe and corse back, then adding like mg tube with cats either SW or kooks. This way I'll have dyno of both to see what if any gains are on a NA set up. Granted I'm not a normal stock set up.
